Comment:

Even though he had a monotone voice, his lectures were still very interesting. He made the history concepts very easy to understand and as long as you take well detailed notes and come to class the test will be manageable because they are the same as the lectures. There was only one book report and no class online discussions.

He's a very nice guy, but the only problem is that his lectures are really long and drag on forever. If you ever think about skipping his class, just know that unless you get the day's notes from someone in the class, you will without a doubt fail a test.

He is serious when it comes to lectures but he explains himself very well. Read whatever book he assigns because the book exam is easy to bring up your grade if needed. Take good notes because all of his exams are based on that only.

Very passionate about his lectures, good speaker and has a genuine interest in helping to improve your grade. The only negative aspect of his class is his power points are not very detailed.

He is not a great history professor. He does not provide study guides. I have used flashcards but his powerpoint notes were not clear. His lectures are boring, if you are not a history fanatic. Only has one book report. His online lectures are 1 hr long. I would have to look up so many terms so I can understand.

Very easy class. Test comes from the lectures and you dont have to read the textbook. The quizzes are very easy with only around 5-10 questions and straight from the notes you take. Tests are multiple choice, full in the blank, and map identification but if you study are not bad.

Comment:

Had him for Hist1301&1302 although the majority of his teaching was reading off his PowerPoints, I enjoyed both classes with him. He provides all the material that will be on the test all you have to do is study it. His class consists of 4 exams and a book report which is just 5-6 questions about a book he has assigned. Very helpful&understanding!

Took as an online class. Make sure to sign into Canvas everyday. Lectures are every week so make sure to listen to the lectures and take notes. Exam questions come from the lectures. Pretty easy class if you take good notes and study your notes from exams.

Great professor who clearly has a great interest and knowledge in the field of US History. He lectures loud and clear and the lectures are very interesting to listen to (especially if you love US History).

Really enjoyed Mr. Byerly's class, will try to take him for HIST1302. Lectures are PP for online classes, reading assignments as per usual, he grades very fairly, does not micro manage at all. Thanks Mr. Byerly!

I love him. I took him online. All of his questions come from his lectures. He explains and makes everything understandable. I made notecards from my notes and that was really helpful. His test do have some fill in the blank, so you have to know the material.

I took HIST 1302 & TX HISTORY and I loved it! I typed everything he said and that was on his powerpoint, read over it a couple of times before the test and made high eighties to low nineties! Only one book and paper to write each class. Great teacher! He made me actually like History!
