Very dry and boring class. Avoid this class if you can and he tends to ramble on about a point and we never get anything done. Quizzes are hard and assignments are marked very hard as well.

This course was extremely useful for summer jobs/post graduation. The practical stuff Francis taught me stuck long after I had forgotten much of the theory from other classes. A very nice guy who's willing to help if you ask!

best thing about this class is that you don't get hung up in theory & get to see and use real applications.Francis is big on that which is really great.His quizes and exams are fair & he is enthusiastic and very helpful in class & for getting a summer job

His lecture notes sucked! There was no solid information in his notes. I didn't find that his lecture was the most exciting, either. He needs to improve his notes and focus on the main things you need to know for the test.
