Certainly challenging to say the least, but its more of the class being difficult than him. Exams are incredibly difficult, and there is a ton to know, but he tells you what's on the exams and prepares you for what to study. Funny guy. Brilliant, brilliant mind. If you're willing to work I say go for it, but be prepared for a challenge.

Leahy is a really great and helpful guy, he does skip over general concepts since he assumes that you remember everything from Macro principles... and previous lectures. But he is hilarious though, honestly, one of the main reasons I go to lectures :)

ok anyone wanting to take his class needs to know this: his practice tests are NOTHING liek the real thing...so be careful...he talks really fast, cracks "jokes" and the TAs are fairly inept...i wouldnt take it...seriously, look elsewhere..im just saying this because i dont want anyone else to suffer this if they dont have to...DONT.TAKE.HIM.

Getting used to his teaching style--fast and skips over the easy stuff--takes some time, so first few weeks are rough. But very energetic, quirky humor, keeps you awake, and brilliant insight on the current economy. Everyone liked him so much that he gave a 'bonus' non-tested lecture at the end--and everyone came.

Best professor I have had at NYU. He is really smart. He might talk a little fast so be sure to stay awake. However, he is very clear about what he emphasizes (thus what he tests). He made you much more interested in econ. Totally worth it to take his class and go to his lectures.

leahy is a great professor full of energy and very intelligent, talks a lil too fast and sometimes acts addish but is funny. material is incredibally difficult but tests are just like the hw and very difficult!! leahy is very friendly and open to students. overall very interesting class

If you want a prof that really inspires, he is the person to do it. I am not a huge fan of econ, but he made it sooo worth it. Funny and full of energy. Knows how to keep class awake. The only problem is he speaks a little too fast, but you get used to it really fast.
