Solid lecturer. I liked him, but I know others found him a little blunt when responding to students. Final was trickier than expected, but he wasn't the only teacher so I can't solely blame him. Midterms were easy. Once you realize the class is more about logical deduction than memorization, it'll seem a lot easier.

I think that Dr. Haughn is a great lecturer, he has clear slides and works through problems in class. Going to lecture really helps and teaches you the tools to solve the problems that you face on the midterms and final. He is very approachable and good at responding to questions over email as well. I really enjoyed his teaching style!

A great prof! He knows his stuff very well and gets it across very clearly to students. His lectures are interesting and very relevant to exams, so I'd consider going to class mandatory if you want to do well. He's also a very nice guy and helpful with questions. Highly recommend him!

A fantastic teacher. Gets across the concepts and ideas very well and has organized slides. Employs the clicker system to make sure students are on track. Exam questions were a little hard given the time constraint an exam presents. Pay attention in class and you'll do fine.

He saved the course, enlightened students, BEST prof i've had at ubc; interesting, engaging & efficient. exams questions are (okay-good) OUr midterm avg = 55% but final was much better, esp his section. take advantage of this prof & get the real value of the money you spent on genetics.
