Comment:

Early Political Thought is one of the best classes I have taken at Wash U. Professor Pepe has been teaching for decades and he knows everything under the sun. He is passionate about what he teaches and loves talking to students outside of class. He even gave me several books. He's a little old school but I loved that. Would take again if I could!!!

Highly recommended. Not merely an enthusiastic professor, Pepe commands an encyclopedic knowledge of history pop culture. These anecdotes and a robust Brooklyn accent have given me fond memories of Latin class.

Professor Pepe is an approachable, very nice man. He is not young, but he is more vital than profs half his age. As a teacher, you can tell he has developed an effective style that suits him well. Plus, he really knows his stuff. What's not to like? I'd take him again.

A wonderful professor. He can ramble sometimes and seems a bit out of it, but he is just as on top of the material as ever, and he has an eagle eye for talking during class. Going to office hours is extremely helpful and he's a very nice person.

By far my favorite teacher I've had at WashU. Doesn't stick to schedule or topics always but learned something about everything. Knows his stuff and always willing to help out his students. He isn't an easy teacher, but he wants to give his students good grades, so make an effort and e-mail him/go to office hours if you need help getting an A.

Great teacher. Unique style, but you get used to it and grow to like it. So far my favorite teacher at WashU (only had 2 semesters though). Just make sure your writing is concise and to the point and you'll be fine for Pepe. Less is more.

Very intelligent and learned person. He wants you to work very, very hard but in the end it all pays off when you realize that you have learned a lot. Quizzes on daily basis keep you "fresh" and very "informed"

Pepe is a quick-witted prof who will not take any flighty BS. rambling--not really. He pulls out interesting parts of the readings (which are good to read--why are you in school if you aren't reading?) i learned a ton in this class, and pepe is well prepared for class and on the ball.

Too smart for his own good. His points don't come across clearly. Also, this isn't a class you can take and not do the reading for unfortunately...he calls on ppl randomly, gives quizes, and assigns weekly papers. It a lot of work for relatively minimal reward.

Rambles a lot in class and is very organzied but he makes the material intesting. He makes the quizes hard and never told us how our grade was determend but in the end it worked out. Always there to help if asked and tries to accommodate the student.
