if you did not take AP physics or you weren't good at it you WILL struggle in his class . smart professor but doesnt know how to explain concepts well .The 'extra credit' doesnt do much anymore so dont even waste your hopes trying to rely on that , I was warned but I did not listen lol . Hes caring tho , physics at UH is a no go in general

He gave a HUGE curve. I ended up getting an A (but holding my breath during the semester). You need to study by yourself a lot. He also gave quizzes during class, so try to attend the lectures.

He knows the material, but cannot teach the material. His lectures are haphazard and disorganized. The labs, which should allow students to see the laws of physics in action, are nothing more than a cheap Q and A of the chapter material with the occasional pop quiz.

Worst physics teacher at UH, he is disorganized and does not prepare for lectures. just asks if you read the chapter and if you have any questions. don't ruin your GPA !

Study the text book and know how to do the homework by yourself you'll be just fine. Reiter's a good teacher if you've read the chapter being discussed before class. he's very accessible during his office hours & as long as he's in the office u can talk to him. He asks a lot of conceptual questions in his first 2 tests. Also he gives extra credit.

He's hard to understand, but it helps a bit if you read the textbook beforehand. Although he's willing to answer questions, he often leaves me even more confused. I started off fairly ok the first few tests simply b/c I had AP physics in high school. If you're new to this, make sure to read a lot. Got an A this semester b/c he gave a huge curve.

He is the worst professor ever, half the class will drop and the other half will have horrible grades. Seriously, do NOT take this professor, he doesnt care if you fail. 3 exams and 1 final, sporadic quizzes that count more than they should.

Reiter chooses the hardest random problems from MasteringPhysics to work out in class-like two for the whole class, and I will come out more confused than if I went in understanding the problem. Doesn't answer email, refuses to talk about grades in class, Final is impossible. I'm an A student and this is the first class I have ever failed at UH.

Student is expected to know physics before taking this class. Loses train of thought in the middle of explaining important concepts. Be sure to have a plethora of physics resources because you will need it to teach yourself in order to pass the exams. Does not communicate effectively - must ask questions in person.

Reiter is brilliant but really doesn't know how to teach, but he is willing to answer questions. Sit near the front, be patient, come to class (in class quizzes, usually short), and Read. The. Book. It's not really a hard class, you just have to put in the effort to get the grade you want. (Note: I'm a physics major).

He puts you in groups and if your final group average is higher than 70, he adds 5 points. He really doesn't teach AT ALL. He's extraordinarily LAZY. Independent study required *1000. But, his tests are out of 150-175 and if you do the homework and extra quizzes, your bound to get a C. Not a good teacher AT ALL, but gradewise a better than others.

He's a good teacher if you already have an idea about what you'll be learning. If you DON'T ask questions you WON'T learn anything. If you take him, you better learn how to read the textbook.

He does not teach at all...just asks if you have questions over the chapters and if you don't he just moves on.... His test are almost impossible...going to class is a waste of time but you kind of have to cause the quizzes are a big part of you grade and so is the HW ...if you do good on both you'll at lest pass the class...good luck

The class is very difficult and moves at a very fast pace so you must teach yourself. Reiter is very knowledgeable and willing to help if you have the right questions to ask. Weekly homework that makes up a large portion of the grade. Stay on top of homework and reading assignments and you should at least pass the class.

Quite possibly the worst professor I ever had. He doesn't teach, doesn't offer helpful advice, and writes confusing examples that no one understands. He assigns so much homework and his exams are well....let's put it this way, it doesn't matter if you study for the exam or not because the result will be the same. Avoid at all cost.
