Comment:

He's an extremely intelligent man and occasionally gloats about it. He's a bit impatient for slackers so try not to fall behind. Homework is barely checked but necessary. His tests are fair but usually have a couple challenging problems that you haven't seen prior. He's a very understanding man that wants everyone to learn.

He is one of the best teachers I have ever had! He is so willing to help you with any questions you have and he makes the class not nearly as hard as it could be. TAKE HIM!

Comment:

I took professor Rhys for calc 1, and he was great. He has a nice philosophy to approaching math which is most of the learning one does will come through practice. He doesn't check HW that much but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. His test come from the HW. Doesn't matter what he assigns, just do all the problems and you'll ace the class.

Comment:

I enjoyed his teaching style and he seems extremely knowledgeable. His tests are usually fairly easy, though I felt like I was hit with "surprise" problems on the final (not covered in the book). He is a great guy but if you take this class, expect to self teach yourself and then when you come in the next day, he will spend a lot of time on the hw.

if every class is full, wait to take math. you will not get an A and you will wish you would have waited until next semester. he always runs out of time and you are forced to learn a majority of the stuff by yourself. his tests are reasonable, but there are always a few confusing questions that nobody gets. homework is light, but a must.

I Love this teacher! I highly recommend him. He is so enthusiastic everytime he comes to class and really wants to help you learn the material. He always takes questions and his MML will absolutely help you get the grade you deserve. He is very fair on his tests and gives you questions that are medium difficulty and tells you whats on the test

I would not recommend Rhys.He purposely left out parts when he solved problems on the board because he thought we needed to "fill in the blanks" ourselves- but this made me very lost 75% of the time. He expects his students to be extremely devoted to his class.He wastes time defending his teaching style, which i felt was awful, unless your a genius

I had Rhys in high school in 1998. He was defensive about his teaching style then as well. In HS he taught me AP Calc BC, second year college calc, and I got a 5 on the AP test. If you are open to the world of math, this brilliant man can teach you anything. After all he taught himself calculus in the summer before his 9th grade.

Brilliant, Im sure he would be great for any other math section, just not calc 3. Tests were very difficult and homework was overloaded. Very defensive about his teaching style, but does want his students to succeed

I absolutely loved this professor. If you have even a slight interest in the subject, you will do just fine. He responds to student interest, and his sense of humor is wonderful. Do your homework, and you will be golden. I had such a great time in this class, and I really did have fun. I very highly recommend his classes. :)

he was a really good teacher! doesn't check homework a lot, so its hard to stay motivated to do it, but if you stop doing the homework, your grade will slip! i would take his class every semester if i could! he's really great and will always go out of his way to help you if you ask! take him! he's awesome!

Mr. Rhys was the best math teacher I ever had. The reason some people don't like him is because he wants you to know why you do math, not just how. That part was frustrating to me too, but soon you get past it. He is extremely helpful both in the classroom and out. His class is good, though some times he tries to please everyone. I'd take him again

Does not teach lesson, expects class to read the book to teach themselves. Does not do problems correctly on the board. Does not seem to put in time outside of class to correct work, to prepare lessons ect. He does not write the tests himself. He is as suprised to see the test on an exam day as his class is.

I love Professor Rhys! I got a C on my first test, went to his office hours and ended up acing my last two tests! Just ask him for help and show him you're trying and you'll do well. Very nice man, too!

Hes a great teacher, when going over the lesson its quite easy, but his test are hard as hell, his reviews dont help you wiht the test, hes a funny guy, a good teacher, just if you are not good at math dont recomend him based on his test being so hard.

Prof. Rhys is a funny, kind person. He wants his students to do well and does what he can to help them. If, however, you struggle with math and it does not come easily for you, he is not the teacher for you. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE!!!

Comment:

This teacher makes math class a lot of fun,so much that the whole class would participate.I always struggled with math,so i sit up front to avoid distraction. Mr.Rhys always made sure students understood the material before moving on. This spring semester, math has not been much of an issue thanks to Mr.Rhy's clarity when he explains the material
