Comment:

Is never prepared for labs so he spends most of class time running around the room, trying to set things up while the class sits there doing nothing. He makes weird comments and is easily agitated when students question him or even ask questions. Timm is not good at explaining the material and goes on unrelated tangents. Truly frustrating.

Comment:

If other biology professors are as bad as he is we are screwed to the max. Tests had nothing to with the lecture subjects, the lecture subjects where made clear at the beginning of class but he would rant about something else unrelated 95% of the time. I stopped attending after the first 4 weeks and have to retake this class.

Worst prof I've ever had. so disrespectful to students. tests do not reflect material covered in class. he constantly goes off topic to talk about guinea pigs or the coast guard... sigh

Nice fellow most days, but the most confusing professor I have ever taken. Rude comments as feedback, verbally and written on tests. Lectures are hard to follow, so I just read in the back most days so I didn't completely waste my time. I really enjoyed lab, and felt like I learned something there. Tests very detail oriented.

Comment:

His lectures were hard to follow because he goes on tangents about off-topic subjects. Tests were often not reflective of the material taught in class, and took up to three hours to complete. Overall I found this class frustrating and would suggest taking it from someone else.

If you show up to class everyday you will pass. He grades on attendance, and most of graded assignments are done in class. Strict no cell phone policy, so don't have it out. He's very understanding and if you need to miss a test let him know ahead of time. Will let you use one page of notes for test. Really enjoyed his class.

This was the worst Professor I have ever had. Literally does not teach. Gives study guides that are completely irrelevant to the exams. The only way you will pass is if you have had previous biology experience. Avoid at all costs

Where to begin? The first day we watched a religious creationist video from a junior high home-schooling program to explain taxonomic classification. Told the same story of his wounded guinea pig every day instead of teaching us. Grading was a complete mystery as he didn't post on Canvas. Ever. Openly "joked" he hated us and his "worthless" degree.

If only there was more than one Microbiology professor. I could complain about him all day but it wouldn't do anything considering that this school will not get rid of him. He has had so many people complain about him and even tells us about it in order to defend himself.

Good luck asking him a question, because he will interrupt you halfway through your sentence with something either irrelevant to what you were asking, or something very rude and unnecessary. Constantly criticizes the class for not remembering specific things from anatomy. Purposefully makes us feel like we aren't good enough for a nurse program.

George is a brilliant man but digresses some into his personal life during lecture time. Not terrible, but he makes you work hard and has high expectations. I found him entertaining but that makes for more work once you get home. If you take this class, make sure that you are willing to put time into reading your book and understanding materials

*AVOID AT ALL COSTS* If you must take him: laugh at his jokes, ignore his profanity, don't be late, don't ask questions in class. His lectures are abysmal. Your only hope is to read the book, do the written and online homework, and the dynamic study modules. Be prepared for taxing and useless study guides IF offered. Jokes about formal complaints.

A bunch of us dropped this class due to how he picks & chooses who will get points for the same answer. He gets extremely hostile & cusses out students for asking questions that he doesn't want to answer, threw items off a table b/c he dropped a petridish, tells inappropriate jokes in class & barely covers the actual material. DO NOT TAKE HIM

Take Insects & People for your lab science!!! Attend class, take notes, and put a little time into your final project and you will pass easily. Textbook by Berenbaum is used a little and the Field Guide by Borror & White very often. *Creepy Crawly Alert* Some specimens are live bugs but you can use lab instruments or gloves when handling

Okay so when I first started in this class I couldn't stand this professor. His lectures are all over the place, really they are. Super hard to follow. You're better off watching you-tube videos. The only reason this class is okay is because he gives you the test pool questions to study. If you memorize them you'll be okay. If not your screwed.

Ridiculous. Be prepared to teach yourself Biology via YouTube or khan Academy. Unprepared, passed out the wrong worksheets, discussed politics, military career and tv sitcoms. Never followed a format or textbook. Don't bother purchasing textbook - even the online textbook homework didn't have the correct chapters listed. Tests were awful.

This probably should have been an easy class, except the teacher is really vague and too lazy to use easy access students sites. He sent out emails and not everyone would get them and he would become upset when they didnt tell him about not recieveing emails they didnt know about
