Comment:
Save your GPA and take another class. You may do well if you can memorize every single detail in the textbook and notes. But like previous comments, without the old exams you're screwed. Old exams help but theres a chance he could totally change the exam and put all new questions. Every yr he changes about 10 ish questions from the previous yr.

Honestly, if you dont have the old exams this will be a very hard class. He is not a good prof. If you dont have the old exams, i strongly recommend not to take this class. I got a good mark but had i not had the old exams, i probably would have failed.

By far the worst class I've taken in my life. The prof might as well not exist because he is the worst instructor on the face of the earth. Tests on concepts that weren't seen at all in the textbook or his awful powerpoints. So bad, can't stress that enough. Absolute trash.

Steer clear of this class if you care about your GPA. This class is apparently very easy if you have the midterms from previous years but if you don't, you will not do well even if you put in the work. In short, DO NOT TOUCH THIS CLASS IF YOU DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO THE PREVIOUS MIDTERMS!!!

Save yourself the trouble and take literally any other course than this garbage. The exams consist of random stuff he pulls out of nowhere and little details in the text rather than large concepts. The worst instructor I have ever had the misfortune of coming across.

Comment:
During his lectures, he talks about really random topics that don't really pertain to the tested material and jumps around the room a lot, which can be distracting. The information that is tested is not taught in lecture, so read the textbook. I basically had to teach myself everything. If you can find old tests of his it is extremely helpful!

Dr. Reuter was a nice guy outside of class. He'll help you if you go to his office hour. But pretty bad as a lecturer. Exams are 80% based on textbook, with the tiniest details. Don't have to go to class at all. Honestly, I don't know how people are doing well. This class was not a GPA booster for me.

Comment:
Dr. Reuter has long, disorganized lectures. Some material is irrelevant to the course. Midterm and final aren't too bad, but some parts of the 4 labs were tedious. Very inconsistent marking, and doesn't care about students not using citations. Fairly low standards, and made a cool topic boring. Was funny without meaning to be. Not recommended.

Had him as a personal advisor. PROVIDES UNCONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM (aka one does not learn from a line beside a paragraph without comments). Does not take the time to TEACH students skills necessary in the field of atmospheric sciences.

Comment:
EAS 429 was a 2 week practical with Environment Canada and Dr. Reuter was co-prof. The course mostly involved drawing weather maps and analyzing what we saw, and weather briefings. No exams. He was helpful even though there wasn't a lot of 'instruction' per say. Great daily weather discussions/observations. Fun/relaxed atmosphere (no pun intended).

Completely horrible. Lectures were boring and useless. Midterms and final were extremely complicated and went far beyond what was taught. Things showed up that hadn't been discussed at all. Do not take anything with him.

Only went to the first 4 classes, never showed up after that. People who say he's hard don't have the exams. Just find previous year's exams, memorize the answers, then just memorize numbers from his notes to answer the 6 questions or so that he changes. Guaranteed A+. Useless class. Didn't learn anything.

Never went to class. Midterms 80% same as old midterms. Calculations mostly easy. Most numbers you need to memorize are in his slides. The exam is exactly like the practice multiple choice, and questions on old material are repeated from the midterms.

Dont listen to what all the negative people are saying. Just find the midterms online. They are exactly the same and will make this course one of the easiest you have ever taken. Do study for it since he does change some stuff up but overall HUGE gpa booster

Probably the worst prof I had in my entire 4 years of university. His lecture is useless so don't go. I actually did go until the first midterm and than didn't go to a single lecture until the second midterm. Did better on second midterm than the first. Also, he expects memorization to the last detail including numbers. Just terrible.
