Comment:

This class was a good class I just wasn't a fan of the professor's teaching style. Be prepared to have cushions of time before and after the class time as you are going out to various galleries and exhibits each week to visit. The homework is pretty easy as they are short and the final can be nearly anything you want. A good class for any major.

Comment:

Dropped this class just a few weeks into it. There was so much homework, like taking hundreds of pictures every week. Her lectures weren't exciting, and I didn't learn anything I already knew even as a beginner photographer. Graded tough too... I submitted this one assignment that I was proud of and got a 70-something on it for small reasons.

Comment:

(First Yr Seminar). Decent class, Gina is super nice and friendly. My only downside to the class is that you have to do three projects and read 3 books (as well as homework, quizzes, journals etc.). Seemed like quite a bit for the class. It is really a class that makes you think. Just show up and talk a little and you'll be fine.

Gina is a great teacher idk why everyone else is saying those things about her. shes very easy going and has a great sense of humor. she does her job and is really enthusiastic about critiques. You can tell she's very humble and has been teaching for a while. i say go for her if you need foundations 1

She is a nice professor and lets you draw outside of the lines during projects. If you talk to her outside of class she is helpful. She will teach you basic camera skills but nothing beyond that. She is a super easy grader and loves her job, but if you want to get something out of the class take a different teacher.

Great professor. She gets a bad wrap because she can be difficult and abrasive but if you just work with her then you'll be golden. Gina is very talented and has a lot to offer as a professor. I do wish we would have had a bit more critique and that is was a bit more critical to better or skills.

Gina thinks she knows it all and she is better than you. Of course she is better than BEGINNER students. Don't waste your time with her because you will be disappointed. Though it was a easy class she surprises you with tests about information we have not learned yet. If she doesn't like your first assignment then good luck.

gina is crazy! she doesn't know how to teach, the class is interesting, but she is ridiculous! she can't even answer simple questions unless there's absolutely NOTHING else going on. she's very dry and makes me dread one of the classes i was looking forward to taking.

Gina just doesn't cut it as a teacher. She doesn't critique at all. She never tells you what you can do to improve a photograph or why its good beyond saying it's 'sophisticated'. She definitely plays favorites and will ignore and underhandedly bash you or put your opinions down if she doesn't like your work. Avoid at all costs.

I was put off at first. She used the first class to scold us in advance for being late at any point in the future. But after that I found that it was an easy class, and she worked hard to make it interesting. And it was always fun to see her unknowingly insult guest speakers by saying things like, "I don't know what you're supposed to be!" Odd.

Gina spends class time giving unhelpful criticism, rambles on about subjects that do not apply to the class andsubjects she knows nothing about, and will turn on your the moment you disagree with her. She is flighty and ignorant and even ignored someone during their final presentation for no reason. She is often wrong and hates to be proven wrong.

Gina isn't a horrible teacher but she isn't that great either. Our class centers around traveling to galleries and she will treat you like you are mentally retarded. She is kind of weird and her jokes are not funny, I got lucky because she likes me so I got away with murder.Become a favorite!!!!
