I loved her so much I took another class with her even though getting to the WT Campus was a pain. She is incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She took a subject I was dreading and turned it into a passion of mine. Her old and new testament courses look at the texts historically and objectively. There is no fluffy “bible talk” here.

just dont take this class with this professor, keep looking. She was very helpful and met with me by appointment many times and we went over tests/quizzes. However, this class is extremely difficult to get an A. This is not a Bible discussion class, this is formal and factual structure of the bible. You have to memorize maps. Hard tests.

She is a ridiculously hard grader!! Not only does she want you to say specific things to get higher than a C- but she doesn't tell you want she wants you to write!! She expects so much from a 100 level course. I have NEVER been told I needed to work on my writing than from her. This class caused way too much stress for a 100 level class.

Although she is a very nice woman, Dr. Hiebert should not be teaching. I am a great student, and I all but failed this class. I'm an excellent writer and have excelled in WI courses, but she basically told me I didn't know how to write. She definitely picks favorites. For a 100-level class especiallyd, it's just not worth it.

One of my favorite classes at Loyola. She is so nice and helpful. 10 quizzes of which she drops 2 lowest grades, a midterm and a final. If you do the study guides and study for the quizzes its a breeze and enjoyable as well. I learned a ton. ...um knowledgeable about Catholics but not so much protestants i noticed

Dr. Hiebert teaches this class like a grad-level course. She even told us that. Quizzes every week, a midterm and a final. Not an easy A, but not too hard to get a B. She is extremely helpful and passionate about the subject, but the amount of information can seem overwhelming. If you take her, prepare to work for your A.

Her A cuts off at 95%, which is nuts, but it's very hard to get below a B in this class; however, DO NOT BLOW THIS CLASS OFF. There are no papers. There are 10 quizzes (drops two lowest), a midterm, and a final. Be sure to study--seriously, you'll want to kick yourself if you wind up with a C in a class as easy as this.

I loved her! I was very surprised to read some of the harsh reviews considering her class is an easy A. If you pay attention in class and do the reading (which is pretty minimal compared to my other classes) you will easily get an A. She is a fabulous teacher who is passionate about her subject. It is a pleasure to take.

Unbelievably difficult grader. Not an easy A at all. She offers help, but it is often not enough. Passionate about the subject, but very tough. Exam study guides are often 3 pages long.

Very very hard grader on her assigned papers. It's ridiculous. I took so many points from her during office hours but still didn't get higher than a C on any paper. Also, she assigns Coogan responses but doesn't really explain what is expected on them ever!! She's really nice, but that doesn't cut it. Wouldn't take her again

easy tests and fairly easy quizzes, but a horrible grader on papers. she has no standard for grading. i went through the honors program and got decent grades on papers from notoriously hard graders and cannot get above a C+ on a paper from her. ridiculous!!! she doesn't care if its a quality paper but rather some ridiculous scale thats never told

I am an extremely good student and do not have a problem working to get that A, but the only way you can get an A on one of her 3 stupid papers is if you are from Rhode Island. She is a very subjective grader. my friend that was in the class with me literally took every point from the paper i wrote. She said his was good, mine was bad

Very sweet lady. Go to class and you will be fine. Gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. I took her for writing intensive and it was so easy. Be sure you hand in a rough draft of the essays. Quiz every week over material covered in class. Easy grader too!

Dr. Hiebert is a marvelous, knowledgable, and personable prof, and so, so nice. Unless you have no interest in learning whatsoever, her lectures will suck you in for the whole class period--so interesting. Like the previous comment: she's open to discussion, but only if you aren't bumbling and have an open mind yourself. For good note-takers only.

Very passionate/smart professor. Tests are challenging but reasonable (study guide), weekly quizzes.Isn't afraid to discuss other points of view, but more often than not, idiots would pipe up with badly-though-out comments, and end up arguing with themselves. If you are that person, please, never ever take a class with me again. Hiebert rules

She is surely passionate about the material. She shows the Bible as having errors, which I do not agree with. She is very approachable, because I did approach her with some of the issues in class and she respected my views. I began to love this class.
