Comment:
Dr. Hartz is a quite nice gentleman. However, the material in his class is very difficult to understand. It doesn't help that there is no textbook for the Philosophy class either. Studying for exams is very difficult. Finding the correct material to study is also challenging. He is also a tough grader when it comes to responses. Write two pages!!!

Make sure to understand the lectures, his exams draw heavily from them. Tests are M.C. plus an essay question worth 20 points so there is not much room for error

Super monotone and gets off track. If you don't have to, don't take his class.

Interesting lectures. Hartz is unique in his approach to teaching. If you make an effort, you will be fine. The class is very abstract and makes you actually think. .

Hart'z ethics class requires a lot of effort and thinking. It's not an easy-A introduction class, but you can learn a lot on the topic if you do the work and pay attention. Interesting subject matter but must be willing to critical think.

If online, watch the lectures. That is the only thing the tests are based off of. The class was split into four sections, each having their own exam. Easy A if you watch the lectures, even though they are dry.

Dr. Glenn Hartz is extremely knowledgable and knows his stuff. He is funny and the examples he uses in class are interesting and relatable. I don't see how anyone could comment poorly on this man. His handouts are hard to understand unless you attend class, but I believe this was intentional and a smart idea. I recommend taking his classes for sure

Comment:
The students who rated Dr. Hartz poorly obviously have a closed mind about the subject matter in the class. Hartz poses very challenging discussion topics. So, if you're looking for a mindless class, Hartz isn't for you. If you actually want to think for yourself and try something new I would highly recommend him!

You pretty much have to go to class because he assigns no textbook, just a packet of notes he made, which do not make sense until he explains them. But once he explains it, the stuff is fairly clear. Tests are easy... Just need to study the 2 or 3 essay options each test for maybe an hour. Also, the guy has no sense of smell or taste!

This class was the worst class I have taken. I went to him for help and he did nothing to help me. His tests were impossible to study for, he in unclear on what to look over for exams. The material was pointless and not interesting at all. I would not recommend any of his classes to anyone.

Great guy. His humourous, blatant and sometimes explicit examples help to make the material as clear as possible. A great student/teacher relationship with Glenn can be created once you have established that you can understand thinking on a more critical level.

I did not find this class interesting at all. His tests are difficult because it is hard to prepare for them. You do not need to read any of the readings that are assigned...He goes over them in lecture. His notes are very unorganized and difficult to study from. Go to class to understand the material that will be on the tests.

Difficult to comprehend. Too many sexual references in examples. Freaky personality. Would not recommend. No work, ever. No books, ever. Just class and tests. Also, is not well-spoken on his requirements for "short answer" questions. Would not recommend.

Professor Hartz classes aren't for everyone. His classes are challenging and tough but they are also very rewarding. If you do the work and make the effort you will come out of his classes a better thinker. Professor Hartz does a great job. If you're looking for an easy class look elsewhere. If you want to learn his classes are right for you.
