There were 3 tests, each worth 25% and 5 HWs with 5 questions each for the other 25%. The TA wants to flunk everyone and give 4,7,11 etc as test grades but you can have him regrade your test and give you substantial points back. He gave extra credit quizzes to help our grades. The TA also takes many weeks to grade anything. Lecture is helpful.

Please avoid at all costs. UH seriously need to either fire him or hire more teachers who can teach 4320/4380. Seriously does this guy not like teaching or what? Take with other teachers if you can. Avoid at all costs. By the way he teaches hell probably thank you for not taking his class.

3340-fall and 4380-spring. I wish they had another prof for these courses. his style of teaching is just go over theorems and derive formulas. he skips a lot of steps so he doesn't make sense. for both classes he had about 5 homework assignments and 2 exams, no final. he was late more than once. he took forever posting grades. avoid if possible!

I took him last semester for 4320 and received a D- and had to take him again for this course. All he does is go over theorems and doesn't do any examples. He assigned Matlab projects and expected us to learn how to code on our own without ever doing an example in class. Too bad he's the only professor that teaches this course.

Do not take! First of all he was late for just about every class (sometimes up to 15 min). Very difficult class, several hws, quizzes, and exams. You must perform well in class because at end you get what your grade is which was assigned based on a slight curve which is already listed on syllabus. Everyone always recommends to take Sanders instead.

Most useless teacher this planet has seen. Will spend 90 minutes writing formulas on the board. Half the class dropped and many more failed. Test average was always in the low 40s. Admits he puts tricky problems on the test to confuse you. Does not know how to explain even easy things. He dosen't care if the students understand anything or not.

Really hard class, first time teaching. Goes over theories, examples done in class are nothing like those on the homework or exams. Two exams and final, some homework and quizzes. Quizzes MUCH easier than exams also. Did not understand his grading

First time he ever taught the class and like everybody else said, he teaches straight theory with little examples and he teaches as if everybody in the class is a math major and remembers everything they were ever taught. Class also uses some Cal 3 that he tried to teach us. Class is hard and he makes it harder than necessary.

I wouldn't take this guy again. He really tries to teach, but all he does is go over the theory of topics. He mistakes all of us for being at his level and skips many steps. His grading is ??? I'm a math major and I love math but wouldn't take him again.

Complex Analysis. Decent professor. He started out well but too many students didn't understand the principles so after trying to re-explain everything he kind of gave up and continued through the chapters. The book (Saff & Snider) is your savior. Do the homeworks to pull up your grade. His tests are short but a bit tricky.

Not the best lecturer. Tests are somewhat easy.Good news... He does give a curve at the end and the final is not mandatory. If you do the homework, it should be an easy A.

This Prof. does not know how to teach, all he does is teach directly from the textbook, therefore there is no point going to his class, you will not learn anything from his leacture, taking his his is waste time, it it like you teach yourself. overall, i do not recommed taking this Prof. he is a bad teacher.

the tests are fairly easy if you can teach yourself the material. timofeyev doesn't give examples of anything during lecture, he just reads the textbook chapter to you. it's up to you to find examples online and apply them to the problems. go to CASA and seek tutoring during class time. you'll get more out of that than going to class.

Basically what he does, is teaches from the book. There is no point going to class, because he doesn't teach well. You have to teach yourself everything, which isn't too bad, unless you suck at math. If you suck at math, don't take him, take Morgan.

The class average on the first test for Cal 3 was a 50. The lectures are not helpful because its the same as the book. The in class quizzes/homework are hard and are graded on a 1,2,3,4 scale. So if you do all ur homework you can still mess up on a problem you lose 1/2 point. Quiz/homework are 25% of ur grade and extremely hard! Dont take this tea

Lectures are bad, book sucks too. Good thing is he puts up a lot of solved problems on his website which are similar to the tests which are easy. He'll help you during a test... take him if you want the easy A!
