AVOID AT ALL COST! Easily the worst professor I've had in my whole college career. The teaching material is crap, written way too technically, and I hardly learned anything from it. I owe my good grade to immense amounts of self teaching from internet sources. The couple times I emailed him about a project he responded as vaguely as possible.

This teacher is one of the worst I've had. He is not understanding when emergencies arise (like a death of someone close to you), and even when he makes it sound like you're doing well, he does not give you full points. His feedback is not always clear, and he expects you to be an expert at Java from the beginning. I DO NOT recommend this teacher!

This guy took points off a project for creating extra methods/classes for projects. Takes points off for stuff not even in the rubric. Expects you to be a senior full stack developer from day 1. EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF TEACHING MATERIAL IS OPEN SOURCE JAVA DOC (Oracle). NO HELP for anything, responds ambiguously to very specific questions. 0/10.

- Assignments are easy if you have some experience, but expect to spend 2-3x longer on documentation than actual code. - A good grade requires close attention and adherence to the project requirements docs. - The "textbook" is a joke, but all of the materials are standard programming topics and better resources are easily available free online.

The professor states that you do good in your discussion and found no fault but when graded, you're never given full credit. The project work is even worst. He will find any and everything to fault you on your project even if you did it to specification. Do not take this professor unless you a seasoned veteran programmer with years of experience.

I just finished completed CMSC 350. Although I did well I do not owe any of it to the tutelage of this Professor. Class consists of Projects, Homework (which are projects with a smaller design doc), and Discussions ( which are tedious and graded arbitrarily). Professor marked discussions late when they were turned in before due date.

Personal issues prevented me from being successful in this class. Situations that were out of his control. However I did stick with the curriculum until the end. The professor was helpful. He was fair and he was engaging. I asked a lot of questions and he always responded. Discussions were in depth. It was a good experience.

Does whatever he can to make sure you get the lowest grade possible on anything from discussion to HW. This has led all students to wait until the final day and copy the one discus. response that he didn't critique. HW he takes points away for things he didn't even ask for. He killed any sort of discussion and everyone's enthusiasm in one week.

He is the worst instructor I ever have. He would not give you the correct answer for the assignments after he graded. He told me I have to find it myself. He is not really want to help you if you have homework problems. So basically you are on your own in this class. I wondering does he know the definition of "teacher" means! Don't take his class!

Not possible to pass this class with this prof unless you have previous progr. knowledge and aren't enrolled full time. UMUC's new 8 week semester really makes it impossible. Prof assumes vast knowledge of linked list/array/stack for 4 HW AND 4 projects - 1 a week. Elaboration is only a referral to the brief PDF assignments, or maybe 2 sentences!

Tough material to learn, especially for newbys. I thought the prof did a good job of giving very helpful hints while not giving away the solution for us. Programming is a tough thing to teach and learn. It's really up to the student to roll their sleeves up and get aquainted with as much material as possible. I'm happy with Salomie.

Professor was not helpful. His assignments left out important programming information which we were held responsible for in the final. I felt as though I had a professor only for the purposes of grading assignments.

Took the class online. Prof. seemed annoyed when you posted a question. His responses were always real short. Textbooks for the class were unhelpful, and Prof didn't add much helpful material.

Too much of his own material. with all the projects, it's just too much to cover when you have to read his stuff, the text, do projects and decipher his lengthy programming examples. Nice enough guy.
