RUN. I can't believe the College of Charleston still has this lady employed. Falls asleep standing up, give zero resources or help, and if you go to her office hours she just seems annoyed you are there. Take histology elsewhere. Sad that CofC can't provide someone who has a passion to teach being this is such an important pre-med class.

This is by far the worst professor I have ever taken at the College of Charleston. I asked for help during the semester and she responded with, " I do not feel bad for you because you just do not put in enough work." Meanwhile, I am taking Genetics, Molecular Biology and Organic Chemistry with 3 Labs. In those classes I have all As and a 60 in this

The worst, most uncaring professor i ever had. For a class as complicated as histology she provides zero resources and information to help a student succeed. Very unorganized and just going through the motions. Only thing on Oaks is (partial) lecture slides with anything important taken out. Save your money or watch your money and GPA burn.

Dr. de Buron's parasitology class helped me get into veterinary school and do well during my first year there. If you work hard in her classes and labs, you will do well and will be better prepared to continue your education at a higher level if that's what you want to do.

Extremely practical in her approach to teaching. She does not tolerate the use of cellphones or computers in lecture and insists on taking notes and drawing out things by hand. The lab component is very important. Use the ENTIRE 3-hour lab time to study the material and you will do well. Most students left lab early, did poorly and wondered why.

Awful! She removes half of the content on her powerpoints, but then gets mad at you for taking notes in class. I've never had a professor like that before. One of the toughest and pickiest graders. She's not helpful at all. When asking her questions, she treats you like you're dumb. She's just awful! Avoid her at all costs! Most of her classes fail

Simply horrible. Not accessible or helpful out of class. Blamed students for failure when half of class was failing during a summer course.

Okay so obviously parasitology is a difficult class. The material is incredibly hard, but should not be confused with how great of a professor Deburon is. Although sometimes it can be difficult to see where she's coming from, she does her best to explain it however many times necessary. Tough grader, you have to really work for the grade.

The worst class I've taken at College of Charleston. It's obvious that she doesn't care about the class or her students' success. The class could be so interesting but she makes it boring. Her tests were manageable but her lab final and final exam were impossible and ruined my grade when it was way too late to withdraw. Avoid this class.

Her test are next to impossible to study for. There is so much information and she gives zero help on what you need to know. There is no organization and she gives confusing lectures. Gets mad at you for taking notes in class and removes 50% of material before she posts the slides. Almost no feedback and is never available outside of class time.

In the beginning, this class seemed okay. As a biology major, I've bad my fair share of hard classes. This is the hardest class ever. De Buron seems bothered when you attend her office hours and is not helpful at all. She is inconsistent with her grading and you never know what yo expect. I had all A's this semester except this class.

Fantastic teacher. I don't know why she has gotten bad reviews. Not an easy class there is a lot of material to learn but it is all very interesting if you are really into biology. Lab's are lots of fun, definitely take if you are interested in the subject and willing to put in an effort

Class is very very monotonous. TONS of memorization, more than any other bio class. Studying for hours on end is really your only hope to do well. She is not a horrible teacher, but she can be very unclear. Her attitude changes on the drop of a hat and her occasional humor in lecture does not make up for her demeaning remarks in lab.

She's crazy but funny, extremely demanding but interesting. I really don't know how I feel about this class. I feel like everyone was penalized because one person had a 100 average, so the rest of the class was left with their B-F's. Definitely a lot of work is required, but parasitology really is fascinating.

This is the most uninvolved teacher I have ever had. Do not expect to get your tests back to review for your mid term or final. She does not care about her students. I'm sure summer session is a breeze considering she omits 75% of the material.

A good class for Pre-Med people. Subject matter is a little dry. Lots of memorization, but that's expected in upper level Bio. Lecture tests/quizzes very reasonable, but you have to know your stuff. Lab is really hard but watching the videos on e-reserve helps a lot. The lab tests are killer. She is a very nice person.

Take this class! It makes all of the other bio classes at the college finally make sense (but make sure you don't sit next to a premed wannabe cause they have a hard tome thinking...)
