Comment:

The worst professor I've ever had. Carroll is very rude/insulting during both lectures and office hours, which makes learning more difficult. He does not get around to grading even though he says he will. The only exam he graded was EX1. Don't rely on him to do well in the class, your best bet is to find someone who already took the class.

Comment:

One of the worst teachers ever. Does not return graded material on time or even at all. Very poor teaching style and unprofessional. Could care less about the students success. Dont take this professor.

Comment:

Took EE321 Systems and Signals from Professor Carroll in the Fall of 2018 and now have him for EE455 Robotics. He is a tough but fair professor whose class is well organized in the sense that his Moodle site has all of the lectures, HW help, sample Matlab code and so on. Easy to follow in class, but style rubs some the wrong way. I find him funny.

He is easily the worst professor that I have had. He is condescending and rude if you ask a question. If you don't understand the way he explained he will not only not help you try to understand it, but will make you feel like an idiot. His notes are super sloppy and just scribbles all over slides. His tests are usually just homework problems.

Very fair grader, put your name on the test and get 30 points. The test is exactly from the homework's. He makes circuits as interesting as anyone can. Only downside, he is condescending.

Lectures are fun and informative. Sit in the front and answer questions and you will have a great time in his class. Beware however, ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer. Overall fun class.

Terrible professor. Made many sarcastic comments especially about students who skipped his class. Took an entire class period to berate the class for doing poorly on one exam. When asked for clarification, his most common response was "look in the book/notes" as he made no effort to help. Took a month to grade exams and even longer to return them.

Okay-ish prof. Constantly gets sidetracked during lecture, and all his notes are online so lecture is pretty optional. Likes to over-complicate and confuse everyone by doing a simple 2 step problem some long, roundabout way to prove some arbitrary point nobody cares about. Best to just skip class and teach the material to yourself with wiley+.

Just finished the course this semester. He knows the material and is always willing to solve problems in class off the top of his head. Will call on students as noted, but does not do so in a negative way, as some have suggested. Tells humorous stories that sometime take a bit of a side track, but usually relevant in some way. A good prof.

Comment:

Easy course as instructor's notes step through how to solve each class of problem in detail. Exam questions are often pulled directly from class notes. Attendance is not required, so I only came to class as needed (notes posted on line). He can be tough on those who sleep in class but generally is helpful when you seek input during office hours

Took EE/ME324 Spring 2010 and found it straight forward. Lecture notes were organized and well developed, based on the text. Tests were extremely fair, open book from end of chapter questions. Not sure why some taking the course are so negative, I found him entertaining. I did hear that several students got busted last year for cheating...

Avoid at all costs. Has no interest in the class whatsoever. Intimidates students from asking questions and seeking help my demeaning those who do. The grades he give reflect nothing but a students luck at guessing on exams and his current mood at the time of grading.

He teaches some tough courses and such profs can get bad rap when problem is hard subject. In this case though, lets be honest, the guy is a real jerk. Not nearly smart enough to be able to disregard his arrogance. Completely uncessary to belittle students making sincere effort to learn. Clarkson needs more like Khondker and could do w/o carroll.
