Comment:
Dr. Cutsinger is excellent in both his knowledge of the material and his teaching abilities. Teetering the line between confident and arrogant, Cutsinger is the type of professor that brings out the best in his students, which is necessary considering the remarkably high standards that he has them.

Professor Cutsinger's Christian Theology course provides thought provoking readings and discussions. Although the course is advertised as being focused on "Mere Christianity", there is a large focus on Orthodox Christianity, however it is still a great course.

Comment:
Dr. Cutsinger is a fantastic lecturer, but he's a Harvard Ph.D and addresses his subject as such. He's brilliant, well-read, knows Christian theology like nobody I've ever encountered. He requires a lot of reading and his two tests are very, very hard. Five quizzes that come directly from the lectures, which he provides ahead of time. Loved it.

Great professor. Really intelligent. He encourages participation in his lectures and always has time at the end of class for questions and comments. He's open to disagreements and never puts anyone down. The class is difficult but overall a great experience.

"The Grey Pilgrim", as he came to be known, is an exceptional lecturer. He presents a great breadth of material in a concise manner. Lots of reading but, when desperate, you can just read the lectures. This became my favorite class and favorite professor. Very fair, very kind, very helpful, somewhat vampiric.

Dr. Cutsinger surely falls into the group of some of the smartest men I have ever met. He can articulate his words extremely clearly and carefully. However, as a freshman in his course, I struggled with his three essays (the only grades really) and his harsh grading made me feel stupid at times. Take if you're a religion major, not Gen. Ed.

Great professor. Lectures are interesting with lots of discussion in class. Definitely not an easy class, lot of reading. 6 pop quizzes, 2 essay tests. He will definitely give you help if you seek it. Take it but be prepared to work.

He is awesome. Participation was 1/3 of grade so go to all the classes and talk a LOT. Took him for perennial philosophy, very very hard class but I loved cutsinger. Funny, chill, wants you to do well.

By far one of the best classes I have ever had. Online textbook. 6 easy pop quizzes to see if you did the reading. Knows so much about the course and a superb lecturer. If you have room in your schedule take this class! Or any that he teaches. One of the best professors at USC hands down!

6 "pop" quizzes (with a TTH schedule it is easy to see them coming) with 1 or 2 questions each that simply test whether or not you read his notes. midterm and final are graded sternly but the more you can manage to write the better. exclusively socratic teaching method and he literally insists you interrupt him with questions. he wants you to learn

By and large my favorite teacher of all time. Cutsinger is brilliant and articulate and is an excellent debater. he truly wants all of his students to take something away from his class, even if its only appreciation. the most rewarding class i have taken here so far, i would recommend him to anyone.

Cool class, great professor. Dr. Cutsinger is one of the more intelligent people you will come across, and he leads a great discussion every class. He obviously cares deeply about the subject and you will find yourself caring too. Textbook is provided for free on blackboard. Not hard to get a good grade but be prepared to work for it.

It doesn't matter what you believe in. Everyone has their own opinion and he knows that. But he does whatever he can to make you re scramble your arguments and re think a few things.and WHY NOT? Its a LOT of reading, and the exams are difficult, but not if you keep up with his syllabus. TAKE THIS CLASS!! its incredible, atheist, theist,or clueless.

Class should actually be called "faith, doubt and I'll prove there is a god." Skeptics beware - he'll rain on your GPA

Professor Cutsinger is a really nice guy. He will help you if you need it but he's not going to make it too easy for you. He knows the material so well and some of his ideas are hard to understand. Be sure to do the reading so you are ready for both exams and all 6 pop quizzes. I wouldn't recommend this as an elective, but it's a good class to take

Mr. Cutsinger is a really smart guy and the class is really interesting. Yet I probably wouldn't take it again as an elective. It is a lot of reading and there is only a midterm, a final, and 6 pop quizzes. Reading is mandatory.

Dr. Cutsinger is hands down one of the best professors I've ever had in college. Material of class is very challenging and can be hard to grasp but he always does his very best to help you understand. This class isn't easy but help yourself by doing ALL of the readings. If you only take one religion class at USC, take one taught by him!
