Comment:

Dr. Hansen is a very nice man. However, I did not enjoy his class because of the broadness of the material covered. Each test required one to have study up to 200 pages of names, dates, and places, along with a supplemental reading of around 30 articles. Test questions would ask specifics about these readings.

I loved Dr. Hansen. He is very passionate about the subject matter and always tried to help in any way he could. His enthusiasm for history was really contagious and I left the course with a much greater appreciation for the history of technology and civilization. Highly recommend!

Friendly and helpful. Nobody came to class on Fridays so he gave test questions and answers verbatim. If you go to class and do the readings you'll be ok.

Dr. Hansen is very passionate about his work and you can see that as he teaches. He is very compassionate with grades and wants the best for each student. His interesting and unique approach on Tech & Civ kept me very intrigued and alert in each class. He made me like going to history class- a thought I had never had before. Great teacher!

Comment:

Dr. Hansen is a wonderful teacher! He's very engaging and helpful. He allowed my class to retake the first exam due to a new test format. Instead of quizzes, he requires that students to keep a "journal" of their thoughts about the reading and lectures; the journal parameters are pretty lax. As long as you keep up and try, you'll do fine.

Dr. Hansen was an okay teacher. I dont think I would take a class with him again. Even though I read the book and used it to answer the assignment it was not enough for him. I would take a different class.

he is super nice but this class is just pretty hard. you have to read EVERYTHING and if you do that and study you'll be fine but you can't slack. he lets you make up quizzes by reading and article and writing a review which is very generous i liked him

I took his Golf Course Architecture class that he teaches every so often, and I loved it. He's easy and so much fun to talk to as it's a small discussion class. It's a good bit of reading, but not bad. Don't let the end of semester paper/presentation sneak up on you like I did. He doesn't grade it hard but it's just a lot to get done.

I loved Hansen. He obviously really loves history and is pretty fair about grading techniques. I made an A and didn't try as hard as I could have. Definitely recommend.

Dr. Hansen is a great teacher. He is a smart man, and one of the easiest professors I have had. To my knowledge, everyone in my Honors Tech&Civ II class got an A. One big research paper at the end of the term, but NO TESTS or QUIZZES! Just do the work, even halfheartedly, and you'll probably get an A.

Very interesting class. Test can be very difficult so make sure to READ and study notes. Take note in any trivial informaition if you take the multiple choice test. Great class, I would recomment anyone interested in Tech and Civ to take this class.

Great teacher. One of the best teachers I've had at Auburn. Nice guy, but his test are hard. He gives you option of essay or multiple choice tests. You should do o.k. if you actually read and study.

Very friendly and helpful. Great teacher. Always has interesting material and trys to fix the plenary lectures so they make sense. Tests can be difficult. Take the essay op. if you can. (a lot less to study for, and you get a better chance to prove what you know.)

Dr. Hansen is one of the best professors I've ever had. His kind nature and sincere love for what he does made this class a real pleasure. He's an extremely bright man, and his forthcoming Armstrong bio will surely steal him away from AU with all its success. ake a course w/ him while you can!
