Comment:

Prof. Hickman is a wonderful instructor. He uses humor to keep class interesting and always offers feedback and chances to improve our scores. This is the most successful Eng class I have taken. However, there was a lot of work. Since this is an accelerated class its to be expected. He can grade harshly so I can see why that may upset some students

This class was online and started out fine, but got tougher. I expected that as it is 102. There is a lot of essay writing to say the least and a few group projects that are tough if your class is online. I felt he could have been clearer with the way he wanted essays done, as the process felt rushed.

Nice, which I guess can be mistaken for creepy. Really great professor if you want to learn how to right an actually intelligent, scholarly paper. Hard grader but multiple chances to rework papers before he grades. Definitely worth the work. Also not the online version so very clear on expectations and due dates.

I'd like to think that instructors set their students up to succeed but it almost seemed as if he was trying to make the class more difficult than necessary. It wasn't that the material was tough but class structure such as irregular due dates, tightly packed assignments, and no real syllabus making you aware of what is to come. Seemed pretentious.

Don't be influenced by what you read on here. Prof Hickman is nice to all, not only attractive females. He pats guys on the shoulder, too. He's just being encouraging. NOT a creep AT ALL. BTW, I also learned more than I have in any other ENG class. Thanks, Jeff. --a male student

He thinks he's some kind of lady's man. He def makes you work but really lenient on girls who are pretty or ones who act flirty back Some girls in our class think hes cute anyway, so we already know who hes givin an A oh and he only gives help to the previously mentioned girls, as he would be delighted if they spent some time with him in his office

good at teaching english but OMG CREEPIEST TEACHER I EVER HAD! DO NOT GO IN HIS OFFICE He WILL try to seduce u. doesnt wear a ring/have pics of wife/kids hes rly creepy and cant keep his hands off me and this other grl in our class rubs our backs, squeezes shoulders, taps arms, stuff like that. i cant believe ppl exist out there hu think hes hot

Currently taking the class. His approach is MUCH different and much better than the typical 102 prof. I HIGHLY recommend it if you want to learn how to appropriately write a paper without just spitting out a bland 12 page term paper. Stone fox? Eh-I guess. Nice looking-yes.His personality makes him even hotter once you get to know him!

I really enjoyed Jeffrey's class. He isn't the easiest teacher in the world, but if you need help he will provide it. One of the most prolific speakers you encouter. If you seek any guidance from him after taking the class he will see to it to help you.
