I had this class (and REL 4441)with Dr. Watkins and received and A in both. She monitors the discussions but doesn't hold your hand or respond to every post. Read the text/view any assigned video links. If you fail, it's because you didn't put in the effort. This is college - start working like it is!

Currently enrolled in this class! Wish I would have check the instructor out first. No grades 2 months into class! She doesn't even open the modules on time. Completely absent instructor! I will be asking UWF for a refund for this course!

Comment:

This class was one of the most unorganized internet courses I have ever taken at UWF. Professor Watkins was MIA the entire semester, and would change her syllabus and drop assignments last minute. At the end of the semester after completing 14 writing assignments, she had graded 2 and the exam, that's it. Super disappointing.

Comment:

Professor Watkins is a really nice lady. She takes her online class seriously, especially participation and discussions. She really wants the class to engage in educated conversation via discussion posts. Her class isn't super hard, but it's not super easy either. You have to read the book in order to do well on your quizzes. I liked her!

Online summer course with interesting material. Unfortunately, Ms. Watkins was absent during the entire semester. Fails to respond to emails in a timely manner, if at all. Absent from discussion forum completely. Frustrating.

Okay, like the professor personally. But she was MIA the entire semester. This class was online and the course material itself was very interesting. She was just not around. No grades for 7 weeks at a time, etc. Frustrating. We taught ourselves.

Super duper easy class. She takes attendance which is kind of annoying just because the class lectures are totally irrelevant. She gets off topic extremely easily but is a nice woman. She's very late getting grades back though, it took over a month for my paper to be graded! Weekly quizzes and two papers, very easy A!

Comment:

Uses a CD instead of a textbook. She takes attendance at the beginning of class and her powerpoints for her lectures are exactly what you see on the CD. Kind of disappointed, but an easy A. Just make sure to bring a laptop or something to make sure you don't fall asleep during class.

The course material and assignments were very interesting, but that is about the best thing I can say regarding this class. Prof. Watkins was obviously having an off semester when I took her. She failed epically in submitting our grades and many people in the class suffered greatly, we essentially went through the entire class without an instructor

She's definitely very liberal and the subject matter was not always the most interesting . However, she's possibly the sweetest teacher I've ever had, and she truly cares about the subjects she teaches. She has a wealth of knowledge about the subject. Easy grader. Class discussions are often off-topic, but usually interesting anyway.

This class is awesome! I took it online over the summer and everything was very organized. I got a gordon rule out of the way and the class is an easy A. There is only a very short quiz every week and 2 papers. The papers suck, but once you get them done it is all good and she is an easy grader. Definately take it online.

I love this teacher! She is so friendly and her class is super easy. I took it online and everything is so organized. Only 2 papers, a bibliography and short quizzes once a week but they are very easy. I definately recommend this class if you need a gordon rule. Definately take it online unless you just like going to class.

I had her for the Death of the Goddess honors seminar. I loved her! She made the class so fun. She really put her heart and soul into the class. Really easy to talk to/get along with. Absolutely amazing

Dr. Watkins was an excellent professor making a vested interest in her students. I appreciate her respect of others with views that differ from hers. I have taken 4 classes with her and think she is great!

I completed four courses with this Professor, so I believe I am a student who is well informed and qualified to rate her. I very much enjoyed this Professor's class, and she inspired me in numerous ways. She was always considerate and respectful of student needs, and I learned immensely from her. Take this Professor's courses, and enjoy!

Teacher required us to attend a service of a faith different from our own. Sometimes did not agree with viewpoint, but thats what made the class interesting. Class is fairly easy if you attend and complete assignments.

Comment:

Her class is a bit easy, and she likely catches a lot of flak outside of class because of her open mindedness & kindness--especially from the types who typically take her classes, but I admire her for it. She could be a little tougher on people but overall, if you're open to the discussions, she can help you understand viewpoints beyond your own.
