Classes consist more of working through problems than learning how to do them, which seemed to work better for me. The book and homework questions were crucial for exams and helped me get an A in the class. Overall that class was great because she really wanted you to learn the material, which matters in the real world. Great class.

Professor Reynolds-Moehrle expects a lot of you but she is ALWAYS respectful, helpful and available to answer questions. The project takes forever, probably 50-100 hours but you learn a lot and she really wants her students to succeed. She is amazing, and kind. She will always respond to your emails in a timely manner.

I took this class for Accounting 3402. You will need 3 notebooks to be totally prepared. Notebook 1 Textbook notes, Notebook 2 Inclass Activities & Homework, Notebook 3 Practice of the homeworks and inclass activities. You HAVE TO READ THE BOOK. She DOES NOT teach in class. You're basically there to do the in-class activities. Good Luck!

Do your studying outside of class because class will be a short lecture and group activities to solidify what you learned. Great professor that cares and makes the topic interesting. Tests every two weeks, but they aren't worth as much.

Accounting 3402 is very tough and requires a lot of studying and reading. Overall, don't go into this class expecting an easy A or B. The material is tough, but she does a good job at explaining the material. She also does a reverse style of teaching, so you need to do the reading at home. She is also a very fair grader by giving partial credit!

2007 grad here. Jennifer is tough, but very fair. She's the reason why I passed the CPA exam and level 1 and 2 of the CFA exam. She makes you THINK of what you are learning, which makes you remember the material for life. What's the definition of the liability?! - many years later, this is still so applicable.

I LOVED Jennifer in 3402, absolutely loved her, but in the internship for credit class she made students write more than all other professors. It was a real switch because her class was easier, to me than other accounting classes and the teachers whose classes were hard for me were easier internship advisors. She was still great!

7+ page research papers almost weekly. My longest was 16. VERY time consuming but I've never learned more practical skills. Prof is nice, will answer questions, doesn't really "teach". Need solid knowledge in accounting to get through the research and apply it. Papers Prof & peer graded. Groups to discuss/help research. Curves final grades.

I agree with the last 3 posts 100%. In class time is productive, she is nice, It's no easy A so make sure to study. Give the class material the time it deserves. She is no doubt nicer and treats people with more respect than Stuerke. Students of her class will say "but you really learn the material", but the same is true for Moehrle. BEST teacher!

She is SO nice and funny! Favorite accounting teacher yet! Class time is used to work through problems and she does it on her tablet which records what is done in class (sound included) and you can watch the Panapto later. She is the nicest teacher who teaches this class and you ACTUALLY learn the material. Project was fun. Great teacher.

Moehrle is great. 3402 isn't the easiest to learn however, she does a great job at getting to the heart of the material. She is great at focusing on what we need to know and connecting it to what we have learned in many different areas of accounting. Lectures, homework, and exams all flow to increase understanding. Have to work tho no easy A.

She gives you everything you need to pass (and do well), it's your decision to utilize it. Notes, outlines, recorded lectures, walkthroughs, practice problems are available for all material. Unconventional class setup requires you to learn material before class, with minimal lecturing and focus on practice exercises in class. No easy A's - STUDY!

This course was a hybrid, with us meeting F2F once each month and the rest of the coursework done online. Not my preferred model, but Prof. Reynolds-Moehrle made it work for me. Very accessible for help, clear expectations, and fair grading. She's an excellent professor. If you want to get potential extra exam points, SHOW UP on in-class days.

Super nice but kind of a spaz And jumps around a lot. She knows the material and doesn't take herself too seriously. You will work your tail off in this class but you'll actually learn what you're supposed to. You must attend class if you want to pass!

She is a super sweet teacher and a good professor WHEN she teaches. I felt like I was learning from the people around me more than her and honestly they were just as confused. Flip class teaching in a learning environment is hard especially with little knowledge of the subject, be prepared to teach yourself in her class.

This class was given in a very distressing way in which you don't have many opportunities to discuss with the professor face to face. She is very strict with grading. To be frank, this class is not that helpful but all the students in business school are required to take that .Otherwise, a lot of students said they would rather take other classes.

Upper level accounting courses are difficult at UMSL. Dr. R-M does her best to teach but, in the accounting program, you have a few know it alls and it always seemed like she would let them speak up and interrupt while the rest of us were still trying to understand the material. If you don't get it, go visit her.

Smart instructor, difficult exams, but if you invest a lot of time you will do well. Read book before lectures & be ready to learn a lot on your own! Covers a lot in class too much in a short time, but she is a great instructor.
