not as excellent as everyone made him seem but a good prof. he tried to make this course fun and i felt bored at times. he is a good person though and i will miss him. wish they could send geology prof aja to teach at indiana and make varga stay here

Professor Varga is great! His lectures are interesting and his tests are easy. The bad news is, he's no longer teaching here. In the fall, he'll be teaching in Indiana. He definitely will be missed in this school.

I mean i ranked him middle of the road for a reason. As a class i find it to be not great but not horriffic. However, he presents material in a great way and is hilarious. Bad news is he is probably gone by this coming fall as he is looking for a new job, and from my perspective he is too good for another university to pass up.

This teacher is the easiest teacher! Bought the required texts for nothing though cuz all he did every week was talk and talk. Final was an essay on a topic that we choose! Mid-term was a thesis on our final paper! What else can you ask for?? EASY! Must take!

Hands down the best prof I met so far. I mean the guy is brilliant , really knows his stuff. This guy really picked picked my interest in history, and I'm a science major. He explains everything so well that I didn't even need to read the book .I kept on asking him for an extra credit turns out I didn't even need it. Take him guys!

Great professor! He so very nice, funny, and charming. He is very intelligent in history and knows all his material without glancing to his notes or textbook. He gives two quizzes, a midterm and a final. I thought I was going to get a bad grade but ended up with a B. If i put more time, i would have got an A. But im happy =)

Very interesting class because of him. He know his stuff very well.Only two quizzes. But be prepared to follow the notes as quick as possible because he will dump the lecture so fast,sometime make you confused. the best class and professor ever.

Took him for Shaping of the Modern World (Honors). Not a bad guy, a bit blinded towards any flaws in his own personal philosophy (but aren't we all?), don't bother to argue too much if you're a political conservative. Easy, only three papers, try to participate 'cause he likes that and it makes the class seem faster. Very easy for an honors core!

prof varga was pretty cool, I actually paid attention in class fr once. Take good notes and know them well for his tests. Participation also helps lots with this guy, plus it makes class time fly by quicker. Says he doesn't like to fail people.

Great guy love his teaching style but if you want an easy A don't take him thats why I took it-premed. I had so much fun & it was pretty much stressfree excpt for exams. He asks vague q's and you start doubting urself. Take good notes & good memory helps. An A isn't impossible, but b/c I barely studied and never memorized, I got a B. Not bad eh?

As everyone has said before, by far the best history teacher I ever had. Even if you don't like History, you will after taking his class. Be prepared for class participation though, if you want a class where your opinion actually counts, this is the jackpot.

Comment:

Professor Varga is a History Prodigy! Very liberal, passionate and socially active. Due to my S.U. backround i hated history. But after taking his class i am encouraged to learn more. I observed sleeping, passive students in the begining of the class and full of attention in the end. Highly recommended!
