Assigns 3 exams, 1 easy paper, 11 quizzes but drops lowest. quizzes are easy & you easily google answers. paper is a personal statement for grad school (not hard, however you need to read textbook & lecture to pass the exams. His study guides are SUPER helpful & whatever you need to know for the exam is on it. Study that & you'll be fine.

Wonderful & one of a kind. One of the few professors in the Psychology department who is willing to help & make sure students get the material clearly. I can't count the number of times Dr. Ellwanger helped me with solutions I did not understand, he would stay a whole 15 minutes to help out our group desk, not leaving until he made sure we got it.

I had him for psy401 which the topic can be boring to some students due to it being a very science based class involving neurons and what not. So if you do not read the material will be difficult/not interesting. He cares for his students and knows the material well. I recommend you take it shortly after psy 170.

This was one of my first classes at CSULA and we had to take quizzes on moodle. I forgot multiple times and missed out on a lot of points that way. The material is presented well, the book is essential for the quizzes. Quizzes were not timed and we were able to take them twice, so I got A's on all the ones I remembered to take.

I was nervous about taking Psy 304 but Dr. Ellwanger made everything easy. His lectures can be a bit dull and long, his tests are fair, and I came out of his class interested in research. There are three research projects and one presentation. He give good feedback. Overall, a great professor.

He isn't super exciting, but that's okay because the information is interesting. He's also really helpful if you ask for help. Theres about 3-4 tests, lots of online quizzes, and lots of reading. His class isn't hard at all, just make sure you try your best to take notes (he changes slides fast) and make sure you read the chapters and youll pass.

I found this class to be a bit difficult but was still able to receive an A at the end of the quarter. I found doing the assigned homework to be helpful in preparing for the tests as well as keeping my grade afloat. Professor was willing to help when I had questions. Would recommend to prospective students.

Dr.E is great! His lectures may seem a little slow, but he truly has a passion for what he teaches. He will give you every opportunity to understand his lectures and he is very approachable outside of class. He truly cares about his students and will do everything in his power to get you that A. CSULA needs more professors like him.
