Comment:

Only three exams and the class is way too few credits for the material covered. However, a very good professor who explains it well. Fink is also glad to field questions outside of class and provides excellent feedback upon request.

Great Professor! Had him freshman year for Calc I. I had already taken calc and did well, so this class wasn't so hard personally. He makes the class interesting with his witt and humor, and has office hours constantly available if you need help. If math isn't your best subject you will have to do the assigned hw problems or you won't pass.

The class I took (Applied Combinatorics) is an easy course. His lectures are boring but he has funny stories sometimes. If you want you can mostly just skip class - but you are gonna have to read the book and do his assigned homework (which you turn ) if you want to get a good grade. It's just the material isn't too hard. Overall, Recommended.

Comment:

Dr. Fink is a genius when it comes to math but horrible when it comes to teaching it. Ended up teaching myself everything and watching Patrickjmt YouTube channel (more helpful than fink). Tests are the same as the review tests he goes over in class. The final is pretty hard. Make sure you focus on series and sequences theorems (half of the final)

This class will suck if you've never taken calc before. I took ap calc before but still had to teach myself everything off of youtube. Class is boring but he is funny and kind. Pay attention to the previous years tests he shows the during review. Write down all his notes to study later. Zone out when he talks abt proofs, won't be on tests.

good teacher good at explaining and cares about the students, however his tests are impossible unless you took calc before, or you are willing to study for 3 hours a day. On his tests you need to know theorems and write everything you are doing or you get marked down.

Very helpful professor. You may not understand everything when class is over, but you can go to him and he will try his best to help. Loves proofs, so be prepared to see them on the test. Has a nice grading curve. I didn't need it much, but others in the class were happy about it. Take his course, you won't regret it.

This professor was def my favourite so far as a student here! He always explained things and told us exactly what was on the exams. no quizzes. 4 exams and a final. the final is just a few questions from each exam. easy to study for. he always made class so much fun and entertaining. i would def take him again in a heartbeat!!!!!!

Professor Fink was an excellent math professor! He has genuine concern for his students' success in math and is ALWAYS willing to help you out in class or during office hours. He expects you to work 3 hours + per day on homework, so be prepared. Tests and grading were extremely fair and he teaches a calm and relaxed class. Highly recommended!

He is one of the best Professors. His lectures are very clear and easy. He welcomes questions and is willing to redo unclear problems. He gave us revision sheets before each exam and pointed out the important problems to study. His HW assignments were reasonable and helpful for the exam. His exams are very easy. He respects all students.

He was a great professor for 276. The class was more than just memorizing facts - it was understanding the concepts, and he was really good at explaining very hard concepts. I would definitely take him again for an upper level math class.

Overall a good professor. Very nice guy. Really knows his stuff, but not always the best at explaining it. Sometimes makes things seem harder than they really are. He is always willing to help outside of class if you are having issues, though. Homework isn't turned in, but unless u had calc prior to his class, id suggest doing it.

Great professor. I am in the class right now. I was worried about calc after not taking math for a year, but he helps me a lot. I feel comfortable going to office hours or approaching him after class. He is always willing to explain something and make sure I understand it. He wants his students to succeed. I have found that the tests aren't too bad

Very Good teacher, just had him, explains well, expects you to know your stuff but reviews it anyway, no dumb questions in his class he always relates to your problems. he does grade hard on labs yes but their not that difficult guys. Grades fair makes sure his students get the best of his teaching
