Professor Hart uses conversation style in his lectures. He is also extremely passionate about his topic and knows everything. He really a great guy and doesnt want to fail anyone he wants to simply pass on his knowledge. Dont buy the books he really just wants his lectures on his exams. Sometimes I get really into his lectures.

The class is "Americans in Mexico since 1865" and the textbook, which he wrote, is "Americans in Mexico since the civil war". Yes, this is a book-based class. He wrote all the three books we used in class. His lectures are really cool, but no power points. No term paper, just two in class essay exams. Easy class if you read!

He really knows Mexican History. Class is based heavily on the books, which he wrote all of them. Major theme is U.S. military intervention and economic domination of Mexico. I really had to read the books to keep up with the class.

Lectures VERY hard to follow. Read the books (he wrote both) and have some background knowledge of Mexican History prior to going in. Does not take attendance. He's helpful but forgetful.

Professor Hart is an amazing teacher with lots of experience and truly knows his history. He also cares for student success and keeps students involved in their learning. He kept me into studying more history and I thank him. Go to class, take notes and read the books. You should do good if you do all of the above with your best. Just do your best.

Professor Hart likes to pick on his students he usually picks on the ones he likes the most. Bad point: he's disorganized, has bad TA's, its hard to understand his lectures and he's mean sometimes. Good Points: he is very helpful and HE DOES NOT HIDE THE TRUTH. A very good thing about him is that he genuinely loves Mexican History and people.

This guys is such a marxist, it's not even funny. If you are as bored with marxism as I am, than do yourself a favor and don't take this professor. He stripped the humanity from all his subject matter and made humans so one dimensional they looked liked mean or nice paper dolls when he was done talking. Really an immature look at life in general.

I took four of this man's classes in the 1970's.He uses the Socratic method to inspire, intellectually stimulate, and make you think. He makes you want to get involved in life.He loves his subject and will make you love it, too. He's great, still!

Intellectual and stimulating, he really knows his stuff. His lectures kept me interested because he has basically dedicated his life to Mexican-American history and therefore is highly knowledgeable. This class was an eye-opener. Highly recommended for those who would like to learn the "real" history, not just what's being written in the textbooks

I took two of Professor Hart's Mexican history classes. He is such an inspiring teacher. He is very knowledgable and passionate about what he is teaching. You are hit with a lot of details in his lecture, but read his books... everything you will need for your exams are in there! Hart really opens your eyes to a lot of things.
