If you want to learn something in class, sit close. The structure of classroom makes it difficult to listen to him, which is not his fault at all. Or you can just skim through stuffs he post on blackboard instead. He needs to change textbook, though. The grade eventually depends on how you do well on final.

Definitely one of my favorite ESE professors so far! Extremely nice guy, very open to questions in class, helpful in office hours too. He makes very fair tests that test your comprehension of the material, no surprises really. Makes the class interesting, especially when he talks about audio signals I hope I get to have him again!

I took an electronics lab course with him 10 years ago. I thought he was very arrogant. He favors some students whom he likes while very mean to some others. It was a waste for me.

Prof Murray is someone who means to make you understand the application of things you learn and why learn in the first place. However, he could be a tad verbose sometimes, but you got to do the filtering there!

He is a very approachable professor. Stays late at evening lab session to help you debug your program, amazing! Knowledgeable in DSP field and shows genuine concern to students. Not an easy grader, so be aware. But you learn and feel been appreciated for your effort. To me, that's huge. So... take the pain, soldier!

Professor Murray is my favorite professor. He talked with me like an adult, was available during office hours and helpful. I'd have conversations with him that lasted an hour or more...he's very interesting. He also believed in me and my abilities in engineering. He's one person I really miss from my college days.
