Professor Khost is so sweet! He truly cares deeply about what he is teaching, and he makes sure all of his students have a chance to connect to the topics and lessons. He is extremely fair and lenient with grading and assignments, so don't push it but just talk to him after class or through email and he will definitely help you as much as he can.

Comment:
Professor Khost, or Peter as he prefers, provides the class with his own material that he's produced. Therefore, there is no need to buy the 'required material'. If you do the minimum of what he expects from you and listen in class, you probably will get a grade anywhere from a B to an A. Gives great detailed feedback about your work all the time.

Khost is an awesome guy. Crystal clear lecturer who actually cares about his students. He'll respond to your one sentence question with a four paragraph long email at 2am, and apologize for not being thorough enough. Guy is a saint. But the workload is tough, because he assigns so much reading.

WRT 302 is not an easy A. You need to put in work. Reading assignments are long, dense, and difficult. Professor is meticulous when grading assignments. Projects are time-consuming.

If I were you I would avoid him. The assignments are obscure and not always relevant to the material. He may be nice in person, but when commenting on your work he will tear it apart. This was a class that should not have been as stressful as it was.

Peter is an excellent professor. He genuinely cares about his students and will do his best to help you in anyway you need. The writing for your profession class was truly invaluable. I came out with a professional résumé and cover letter that have successfully gotten me several interviews. Peter is one of the best teachers I've had at Stony Brook

Peter cares about each and every one of his students. His class changed my life. He gave me the push I needed. The work he assigns is worthwhile (usually not the case with other professors). Very friendly, easy to approach and even easier to talk to. He is easily, one of the best professors I have ever had. Without a doubt, highly recommended.

Khost isn't bad for a WRT 102 professor. He's fairly interesting and a really nice guy, ALWAYS open to help you if you want to put in effort. His grading is ambiguous, you literally do not know what you have until the end of the semester. Revise your papers well based on his comments if you want good grades. Got an A-, but had to put in lot of work

Took his class over the summer. He's very clear and lays out whatever he wants in the papers. There's no unnecessary homework. All the homework assigned are related to your paper. He may seem like a harsh grader but if you revise and proofread your essay as he commented, then you'll get an A. Also ask others to read your papers for more feedback.

This man truly is a gentleman and a scholar. No other professor (at the graduate level) has been as inspiring or dedicated. He truly treats each student as unique blossoming scholars and human beings. I learned more about my place and direction in my field studying with Peter than in any other course.

It's true! He gives the least amount - the bare minimum required - of work of all the WRT102 classes! Basically all he requires is a portfolio, and gives you lots of time to prepare. Very clear and to the point.
