Comment:

Honestly this was a seriously tough class. I was not a fan of his personality at all; often times he was condescending. He would put you on the spot so you definitely had to be ready for anything he may throw at you, BUT that being said, looking back on it.. I did learn a whole lot. He really makes you learn material, not just rote memorization.

Comment:

The class was definitely difficult but it was by far the most relevant to my classes in professional school. I've waited a long while before posting this to see how relevant the material would be to that of my physiology classes later on in my schooling, and this was the only class from my undergrad that truly helped.

Jorge is condescending. He talks down to you and tells you that you are unqualified for medical school and that he would never want you as his doctor. He would be a good teacher if you weren't always afraid of him embarrassing you in front of your peers. Nobody in the class wants to answer questions in class bc if you're wrong he will tear you down

Comment:

I have never enjoyed a biology class more! You have to work hard to do well (i.e. read the book, pay attention in class), but his exams are fair. Dr. Flores excels at bringing concepts together and encouraging his students to see the big picture. He's a pretty funny guy too. I'd highly recommend him to anyone who's serious about biology or medicine

Quite possibly the worst teacher I have ever had. His tests are very specific, so I would recommend a recorder if you have to take him. If the class did not perform well on a test he blamed everything on the students. Well if the class average is a 58 on a test there is something wrong. I know that I studied A LOT and got a 60 on the first test.

Dr. Flores is probably the best teacher I have ever had. Yes he does challenge you, but isn’t that why we are in college. I learned more in his class then any other class at WVU. Do not believe what people from bio 117 say Dr. Flores is fantastic teacher who cares about providing a top rate course.

Dr. Flores is the first professor I've ever had who wasn't afraid to really push his students to excel. Bio 441 has, by far, been the best, most informative, most relevant class I've ever taken. I've literally learned more about human biology in 15 weeks than I have in 3 years as a bio major. If you are serious about biology, take this class!!

Jorge actually teaches! He doesn't just throw out a bunch of facts for you to memorize, he guides you through the thought process needed to understand the information. Yes you have to read the book but isn't that expected in a class? I have learned a tremendous amount in his classes .

Jorge is probably the best teacher I have ever had. Yes, he is challenging and yes, his test make you study harder than you ever had before- but I feel like I have learned more and gained more from this class that any other undergrad class I have ever taken. He is extemely helpful and I would recommend this class to another bio student in a second.

THIS MAN IS A PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A TEACHER!!!!!! by far the worst professor i have ever had. his exam had a terrible class average which obviously came from his inept teaching style, and he refused to scale.

Terrible terrible terribe porfessor. His lectures are useless so u have to read the textbook word for word. Test are impossible to do because he puts questions frm old textbooks and blame students for not knowing. The only reason i passed this class was Dr Thomas, great teacher. I would not recommend Flors to anyone unless i really hate the person.

Jorge is HORRENDOUS. he does not care about the students' understanding, misspells a LOT on the exams, and asks questions that are used from the textbook that was used from two years ago. When asked about a question from a previous exam, he said i hadn't studied enough and that I do not know how to manage my time wisely. do not recommend.

Makes a freshman level biology class seem like you are in Med school. Last year they got test banks to study....we didn't and didn't get any curve to help out our 55% class average....I LOVE Dr. Thomas....he saved my grade.
