Comment:

Dr. McKinley was an incredible professor. She writes her lecture out in bullet notes on the blackboard and then lectures according to her outline. She allows you to record her lectures with your phone, but do NOT be on your phone because she will not hesitate to call you out on it. Her studyguides are great! She is one of my favorite professors!!!

Comment:

Dr. McKinley's class is very challenging. However, if you put in the effort to study you'll pass for sure. Your grade is made up of test grades so learning to be a good test taker is crucial. Also, you receive a point of your total grade from attendance but you can technically miss more than three.

Comment:

One of the best professors I've ever had. Very knowledgeable, and despite her intimidating demeanor, she's actually quite nice if you talk to her outside of class. I had to work fairly hard to earn an A, but I learned a lot so it was worth it. I recommend this professor to anyone who is willing to put in a little more effort

The first day you go in she smashes a cell phone, but its only a scare tactic. As you go through the year she gets easier. Although you do take about 3 pages of notes a day they go into great detail of the subjects you'll be tested on. Just do the work and the study guide. It's really that easy. Her lab is really helpful and she explains everything

if you don't like Dr. McKinley or find her "hard" it's simply because you didn't try in her courses. I have had her for multiple courses (including 101 and 102) and she's fantastic. Never a dull moment in her classes. Pay attention in class. Take Notes. Fill out the study guide. You will get a good grade.

Dreadful and arrogant. Lectures are only copying notes off the board. She belittles people in lab and takes points off graded assignments which were barely explained. Lecture tests are easy, but the lab tests are killers. I would not take her again unless I had to.

I love this teacher! She made things so understandable. She's intimidating at first but after the first test, you get used to her. There is almost no homework, just tests which are all multiple choice and labeling. she even gives a study guide. This is a teacher i would recommend for bio majors and nonmajors!

I cannot say enough about Tonya. The way this woman lectures is genius. You will know the information whether you realize it or not. She is intimidating at first, but she is just weeding out the weak. There is little home work, just tests. Exams are labeling and multiple choice. Thumbs up if you want to learn =]

Very intelligent woman. A little strong at first, but once you get to know her, she's a very intelligent and helpful person. I highly recommend her if you want to learn. Just take the time to get to know her a little, and the ride will be much better.

Plants was very boring and Dr. McKinley has a very strict attendance policy so you cant miss class that much. The lecture tests are pretty easy by the biology department's standards, however the lab exams will probably kill you...the class average is usually always in the 50s. Dr. McKinley is really nice and easy to talk to though.

I had her for Botany. She is a good teacher, but she is extremely rude at times. She has been very offensive at times, and has a way of making you feel stupid when you ask a question. She is very smart aleck, too. But, she does give studyguides, and if you know them well, you will do good on the exam.

I love her...but not for her looks of course. Take this course if you want to learn something. Yea it takes time, but i would rather be prepared for future classes. Definatly not an easy A, but for the average person..I would take her! If not to learn then at least laugh at her corny jokes and funky clothes!!

She's a great teacher. Seems difficult at first and you need to study but she makes the material easy to understand and even gives you a very helpful study guide. She's even got a sense of humor, which helps with long boring lectures. I'm passing her class and I'm definetly not very good at science.
