I took this class without really knowing what it was but ended up really enjoying it! I learned a lot about public health issues and pretty much your whole grade is based on just showing up and discussion. There's only 2 papers (midterm and final, both take home) and she accepts all late work with no penalty. Fun final group project as well.

you can do exceptionally well on everything, but if you dont show up she will dock a significant amount of points for attendance. Its almost impossible to make those points back, and if you miss more days it just gets worse. Participation is heavily weighted and missing class (even due to sickness) can cause you to get a low grade

The hardest thing about this class is that you have to show up because it is 20% of your grade. Other than that, the essays are super fun to write and the class is really interesting.

She gives clear instructions on criteria and provides awesome lectures that are very understandable and relates to the material. She is accessible for questions and considers questions as important to the learning process. She seems to care about her position and the University as well as the students. She encourages participation.

This class is extremely easy, the only difficult part is having to work in groups all semester. A large portion of the grade revolves around group work.

Loved her and I loved listening to her lectures. The way she spoke reminded me of her human imperfections. He seems socially a bit awkward but that also made her so much more interesting to me. I am looking forward to taking another class with her next semester.

Make sure you attend class. She relies on the class notes and participation grades for a good part of your grade. In class discussions require you to read her mind for the correct answers to questions, but the essays (that are most of the grade) are graded fairly leniently. Don't expect timely responses to emails, grading, or actual office hours.

I really liked Professor Crowther and enjoyed her course. The first few classes I doubted her ability to lecture, however I must have gotten used to it because I now find her easy to follow. Pretty interesting course material and the book readings assigned are VERY interesting and easy reads. Must attend class for lecture/discussions.

Very harsh, unfair grading. Poor speaking quality, hard to understand the point. She makes an ideal answer that she wants in her head, asks a very general question, and counts half off if you don't hit every point in her utopia answer.

Good teacher, very nice person overall. Must attend for notes, can't get the info anywhere else. Not that hard though, all essay tests are graded pretty leniently, as are the 2 research papers. Recommended.

A great course. I learned a lot and really enjoyed the format of the course in which Tuesdays were a lecture and Thursday we would have a quiz and then an in-class activity. The tests were part multiple choice and then essay. I recommend this course!
