I'm very sorry future students at Auburn will not be able to take his class. He taught this core class like any required class should be taught. He didn't treat us like we were English majors. He simply wanted us to understand the material and enjoy the class.

if you absolutely hate english, take this professor. he's the best teacher i've had at auburn, and he really loves students. class was always interesting and if the man didn't want to get up, he didn't, and class was cancelled. i miss his class, that's how great he is. take him!

Comment:

Readings were not out of anthology books, and instead were various books ranging from ghost stories to holocaust books. Is probably a few fries short of a happy meal, but this makes him funny, and interesting. I've always hated all English classes, that's one reason I'm an engineer but I really enjoyed his class and got an A.

Mr. Brodie is a character. He is a very nice man will help you if you need it just ask! He cancelled class on mondays so classes were only two days a week and lasted at most 25 min! Had four papers and if you just try you will get a good grade. I got high A's on all of them but ppl who slacked off/ took advantaged did poorly. Take him!

Dr Brodie is THE BEST english composition teacher you can get. We do one (easy) paper every few weeks. He cancels class alot too. The class is pretty enjoyable and he always lets you out early. TAKE HIM!!!!!

Took him for World Lit 1 thinking it was an easy class right? It is insane so far! I am hoping to scrape a C! This is not the Mark Brodie of old. I do not know what happened but take ANY OTHER PROFESSOR! RUN!

He is the BEST English teacher I've ever had. I wrote all the papers the night before or the day of and got an A on all of them. You just have to show up to class everyday. He dosent even make you stay the whole. Try your best to TAKE HIM!!!

I had Brodie for world lit II and engl comp. II and made A's in both classes! For world lit the tests are essay and quotes- and if you go to class the info. you need for the quotes is given in the notes- as long as you listen in class you will do fine. Most of the time he let us out of class early!

Mr. Brodie really is a cool teacher and you get to read a lot of interesting books ..when i first looked at the list of books to read I almost dropped him.. but the books were really neat and fun to read! You don't have to come to class but you better if you want to get a grade.. sneakers and belt buckle awesome! Take him!! you won't regret it!!

Dr. Brodie is awesome! He is really funny and down to earth. I was 30 mins. late for the first class(thought it started at 7, but it started at 6:30). He was totally cool about it and just said everyone is late sometimes! Attendance is not mandatory, but go to class, listen to what he says he wants you to do on the paper and you will make an A!
