I was really scared to take a statistics class, however, Dr. Barchard makes things pertty simple. She is very organized and on top of things. Don't get me wrong this is a really hard class and you will need to study and work hard on the formula sheets for the exams. I was happy she was my teacher because everything was straightforward.

Make sure you go to every lecture if you can, do EVERY quiz, and EVERY assignment (they get a lot of weight). If you approach this course like a math class you'll struggle. Her exams are less about complex computations and more about logic and how well you understand the material. READ THE BOOK, quizzes, assignments, go to class and you'll get an A

Hybrid class. kind of need textbook. she makes everything clear. class is hard in general but she made it easy. cheat sheets for all tests including final. drops lowest test score. great at making you understand & learn material. hybrid feature is amazing so you learn and go over stuff in class and do everything else at home.

I was apprehensive going into a stats class. But with Dr. Barchard, I'm not surprised I did so well! She is very enthusiastic about stats and has a very fun personality that transcends into her lectures. She really wants you to succeed and is there to help whenever you need. The hybrid format made the subject very understandable. Well organized.

Awesome professor. She is always available for emails and office hours. extremely difficult class (lots of math).Dont miss a class or any assignments or it will be difficult to catch up. This was a hybrid course so there were weekly in-person lectures, online video lecture w/lab, quiz, textbook readings and an in person lab. Very demanding.

Dr. Barchard is very knowledgeable with the course. But she needs to teach her students rather than creating a lab class that isn't very significant for undergrad students. On the other hand, she's a very nice and considerate person. I suggest future students to put effort in to making their Formula Sheets because it helps boosting exam grades.

Dr. Barchard is a great professor. Her class is very organized, and is planned throughout the semester. As long as you read the chapters, do the online quizzes, and lab assignments, you should do fine in the class. She also allows formula sheets on the exams, so you should not have a problem passing the class.

Loved this class. Dr. Barchard knows her stuff and is really great at helping through the difficult material. I especially loved the class style, part lecture, part online lecturework and lab days to work with SPSS. The SPSS work was especially useful considering I'll need to know it for grad school and no other profs teach with it.

Judging from recent comments it appears this class is not taught in a different manner. I took it before the self-teaching stuff. Dr. Barchard gave me the most clear explanation of statistics concepts to date. I went on to use it in other classes and professionally. I'm glad I met her.

Going to class was a waste of time.Mon. we pick up a paper to grade ourselves for a project, leave class and work on the project. On Wed. we turned in a hw assignment and worked on another which was due 5 days later. She NEVER lectured, we learned from the leclets and labs by ourselves and told us to ask our classmates about the questions we had.

Helpful but very anal when it comes to some stuff. This semester's 210 class she taught was a hybrid course so most of the learning was done on your own on the computer and she would just help you grasp the concept in class afterwards. She's pretty lenient with some assignments but don't fall behind!

Horrible class. The way it is designed you teach yourself stats and then you come to class to do homework and do a project. The professor isn't helpful, she is very demeaning of her students. I passed by learning just enough but I do not feel like I actually learned anything that will stick with me.

A lot of busy work, was not a fan of her or the class. Being a psychology major I expected this to be very interesting and was extremely disappointed. The grading scale is strange making it very confusing to calculate your grade throughout the course.

I took behavioral statistics online and it was the best online class I've ever had. Crystal clear lectures with very forgiving grading system. Professor is very prompt and helpful. Make sure you don't fall behind because there is a LOT of work, but it's easy if you watch the leclets and read the chapters in the book. Just watch and read.

In my opinion, Kim is a great teacher. She has a very unique way of teaching that made the class interesting, especially since it was a statistics class. Her HW assignments are not very difficult and most of them you are allowed to work in groups. She also allows you to make a study sheet to use for the tests that help out a lot.

Comment:
Dr. Barchard clearly has a passion for what she is doing and cares about her students and our performance in the class. But she tends to accommodate for the lower level students by requiring (and grading!) "cheat sheets" for every quiz which is annoying, it only hurts grades. The material is easy and Barchard makes it entertaining.
