This professor knows what he's doing. The hard material is made comprehensible by exhaustive lectures that also relates each new point to something in the real world. The very few constituents of the final grade don't make the class easier, instead giving it more of a "sink or swim" feel. Each question is graded on a spectrum, not "perfect or a 0"

He is a very easy, helpful, and hilarious. He always has good chemistry jokes and the homework he hands out is extra credit for the exams. As long as you study your notes from class you will get an A on the exam because they are exactly alike. 10/10 the best chemistry professor

Kim is a really an amazing teacher. Show up for his lectures, take notes, and do the homework, the test are easy! Also, he gives extra credit on the test if you do the homework! The grades are simple. He is a little funny if you can understand his humor. He doesn't really use the textbook, so use an online one, but get a physical lab manual!

I took the 5 week summer session and his class is straightforward. Breakdown of class: labs (attendance is mandatory), 5 tests, and about 10 homework pages... and optional homework which is helpful for your success. His tests are a direct reflection of his notes, so write down EVERYTHING he does. Ask questions, he is willing to answer and help.

Great guy! love him personally. you have to show up to lab but as long as youre there you get a 100. lectures are super boring but not mandatory. he makes things more complicated than they should be so if you dont know anything about chem it might be a little hard. theres 5 exams and thats most of your grade so you have to pass the tests

Only graded on tests (easy) and labs (easy). Absolutely loved Mr. Percell. Doesn't call on anyone and makes chemistry very easy to understand. He gives homework occasionally, a few questions, and uses that for extra credit on tests. Take his class!

I hated chemisty with a passion and going into his class I was very concerned for how I would do. So far I have a 99% average and he has explained every single thing in depth so that we can all understand it. He answers any and all questions and treats everyone with respect. He also makes little jokes and quirky comments which keep you interested.

If you show up for lecture you will pass, all his lectures go with his tests. Also make sure to show up the class before your test for a GREAT review of what your test will be on. I wish I could take more of his classes, but i've already taken all his classes. They aren't to hard, but you will learn easily. Love this guy, highly recommend!

I had Prof. Percell for 151 and 152. His lectures are very specific to the tests and he does a good job of focusing on the crucial information. Taking good notes in his class is easy, literally just copy everything he writes on the board and you'll have perfect notes. Genuinely nice/ kinda quirky guy. Tests are a tad difficult. Labs are simple.

Mr. Percell is a sweet man who manages to make chemistry interesting. I loved this class, and I hated CHM151. He takes time to give examples and be humorous and is very understanding if you are going through something. I hardly studied in this class and I finished with a high B. I highly recommend his class.

Mr percell has a great teaching style. He writes all the notes you need on the board and goes over them thoroughly. His tests are straight forward and exactly what he goes over on the review day before each exam. I hated chemistry in high school but after taking his class it is easily my favorite class so far in college

He was such a great teacher. I love his old school way of teaching using the board because he explains everything in a way that you can understand it and is very clear on what he expects you to know on the exams. He is one of the best teacher's I have had at cfcc and I definitely recommend him.

Great teacher. Class and tests are so easy, just pay attention and take notes. He is very great and specific when it comes to teaching and answers any questions. He also wants you to do the best in his class and is an easy grader. I recommend him to anyone having to take biochem. Class is a breeze.

I am reflecting back on this class going from CFCC to UNCW. Take this class and pay attention. This class was a breeze compared to organic chem. Go to class take notes and you will not fail. Cape fear in general was way easier than UNCW for obvious reasons but this was a great class to build on your chemistry foundation.

Percell is great, he goes over every concept pretty clearly and if you're confused he'll try to make better sense of it. His tests aren't hard as long as you pay attention and class and do the practice problems he assigns. Tests aren't multiple choice, definition questions, they are "show your work" type of questions. Lab is sometimes long but fun.

Mr. Percell is an older gentleman so he doesn't use Blackboard for grades, which leaves you wondering what your grade is all semester and your final grade basically comes from your test averages. Other than that, he is very thorough in his teachings and writes everything out. His labs are pretty easy because he shows you how to do them.

He's a really funny teacher, his tests aren't easy but they're definitely not hard (fair medium). He grades fairly and during lectures he gives you real-life examples that actually do help you understand the class. Labs are just as easy, so don't be wary of that. He's a really awesome teacher, and if I had to take another chemistry with him I would

Mr Percell is wonderful! He lays everything out very clearly and tells you exactly whats going to be on the tests. He writes all of his notes on the board, so you need to go to class, but it flies by. He just touches the surface of many topics, so its not complicated and an easy A. I highly recommend him!
