I didn't like the timed quizzes. It feels very stressful. No way you can know 4 long chapters in a few days for a 20 question 30 min quiz... Too much material in one quiz, not an effective approach. I don't recommend the online course or the 8-week online course.

I recommend taking this class. This class is simple just post every week and respond to two students. I would suggest studying a lot before the quizzes and final. She replies to emails at a timely manner. Just do the readings and posts and the class will be a breeze. Goodluck. From graduating student.

No extra credit assignments so dont miss out on anything. Dont expect much communication with the teacher other then posted assignments. Double triple read rubric and questions. Try and side with any opinion the teacher might give out or some points might be taken off.

She is a TOUGH grader, but dont expect any feedback :(. Details: online 8 week course, one discussion board a week (FOLLOW HER CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS OR YOULL REGRET IT), 4 quizzes total (answers in online book/copy and paste into google), and two very easy (but again, FOLLOW HER INSTRUCTIONS WHILE DOING) brief assignments. Took her for 8-weeks and it was a little challenge. Their is no extra credit so you have to make every point count. She rounds grades up if your within 2% of the next letter grade.

Great teacher online, she cares about her job and about her knowledge of sociology. Doesn't make the class too easy or too hard so we can enjoy, and learn as we work. Excellent.

She expects you to be a mind reader! She expects you to answer discussion questions exactly how she would answer them or she deducts points. Your opinion should match her opinion or she deducts points. Maybe she's having a bad semester, but she will deduct points whenever possible for any reason.

Online - BEWARE! Choosing a topic she doesn't agree with will cost you several points off each assignment, even if you follow directions to the T. Lazy grader. Only interacts to criticize your work and tell you information is not provided when it clearly is. Tests - Not all questions are from the book/ppts/etc.

Comment:

Lazy grader, always knock off a few points, even if your work is clearly what was asked. Takes a few days to get back to emails. The homework is minimal, and easy, which is why it's annoying that with all the work done, you can't get an A in this class. But overall an easy online course.

This class was an easy A if you study your key terms and listen in class. Cheatsheets for tests were very helpful! Class was a good mix of lecture and group work, which helped to hold my attention. She makes the topics fun and interesting and clearly knows what she is talking about. Overall, good class.

Comment:

She expects you to memorize the entire textbook for her exams, even though she never uses it during her pointless lectures that often went off topic and never made any sense. The cheat sheets are the only thing that got me by, not anything she actually lectured. EXTREMELY annoying voice but it'll make you laugh when she yells.

Her lectures are not very clear, although she allows the use of cheatsheets on tests, they are often times not very useful, as you do not know what to except on the tests. Her lectures are very broad. You have to read the textbook and memorize every detail in order to get a good grade in her class.

Overall good teacher when it comes to keeping the class interesting but her teaching skills are not that great. She lets us use cheat sheets on tests but they are worthless because you don't know what to expect. I didn't even get and A or a B on any test. She likes to tell the class to "shut up" a lot. You have to read the book to pass the class!!
