DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT risk taking this professor's class. After 6 full semesters at Grossmont, this is the only class I have ever dropped! My experience with her has been nothing but terrible. Aside from her requiring a lot of work, she was also VERY rude in her responses to my emails about assignments, and her exam was irrelevant to info covered

Worst educator I've experienced. Won't answer questions about your grade. I followed the prompt identically and got knocked off points for "numbering" and when I questioned her there was no response. Extremely condescending. She's borderline rude. Not recommended at all.

Comment:

Professor McKinley is very clear as to what she expects in the class and assignments. She's also very helpful and will give feedback. To do really well, read the material thoroughly, study it, follow her prompt for essay assignments, and ask for clarification. Start on the assignments in advance and most of all, participate in Blackboard DQs.

Harder than what I expected for an online class. Not a whole lot of work assigned, but expects thorough responses. Discussion board participation is a must. Surprised on how hard the final was. I never opened the book once for her assignments yet the final was based on material from the book. Unnecessarily hard tests but fair grader on assignments

Comment:

Professor McKinley is very clear in her expectations. The papers she assigns are long but easy. I was able to complete all of the coursework in about 3-4 hours a week. She is a fair grader. Yes,there is some work involved but it's college so don't expect to be coddled. Did this while taking anatomy & physiology and worked 2 full time jobs.

Only had one assignment a week and one discussion board a week. Super easy work and to pass the test all you have to do is study the book. She gets back to you quick and is a very good instructor. This is my second time taking an online class with her and I would highly recommend her to everyone.

Literally worst educator I've ever had in my life. Unbelievably condescending, and for somebody that teaches a course about aging and death, has zero regard for bereavement.

She is not helpful and will not come through for you, even when she says she will. One of the worst teachers I have had at Grossmont. Do not take her unless you think you will be one of the lucky few that get a good grade.

This class started off good the ended with alot of work and frustration. She gives you a 15 pg paper and a 10 pg paper. Along with weekly assign. The test are very hard and it makes it hard to get a good grade in the class. I wish I would have read these reviews before taking her class because I wouldnt have taken it with her

I took her online and wow I can't believe how hard she is. She reads every single board post so beware of that. She makes you write a 15 page paper. People in top notch schools don't even get that much work. She's very hard I don't recommend her at all.

I recommend never taking a course from this professor. She is inept in regards to conducting her class in a manner befitting a professional instructor. Her tests do not reflect the marterial she presents in class so it is nearly impossible to adequately pass a test. The syallabus is contradictory and offers little guidance as to her expectations!

Lynn is the most amazing professor. She is open minded, fair and teaches life changing skills. Everyone in this class became friends and supported one another in the learning process. Exams are hard, do the reading. Anyone can pass this class and with real effort anyone can get an A.

Nice lady and all bu it's like she's trying to prove that this isn't an easy class. In the online course there are 2 chapters/week, one assignment/chapter, mini assignments, and 1-2 discussion questions/chapter. If you work full time and are taking any other classes and have a life you may want to think about another teacher. Mind you this is on
