He is not great at CS professor. I had chance that take CS385 and other four-hundred class in same time. I asked question his, and he always says "let me think about it later" and he will never answer it. I tried to ask same question to my four hundred level professor and she answered correctly. The answer of his exam was wrong.

Comment:

Professor Zhang is always late for class, and is never prepared to start when he finally arrives. His lectures are hard to follow, and his notes are not helpful. His class is very unstructured, and he never gets materials to students on time. What is on his study guides is not what is on the tests. There are very few redeeming qualities about him.

He is honestly the worst teacher i have ever had in my life. His english is God awful...impossible to understand, his homework is totally irrelavent to the class, and his tests and quizes are HARD AS _____. kids in my class that knew TONS about computer science failed and change major because hes soo bad at teaching.DO NOT TAKE HIM NO MATTER WHAT!!

His homework assignments are very vague; most of my class didn't know what to do half the time. When a student has a problem, Zhang seems to get defensive about it, as if the student was insulting the teacher personally, or as if the student was stupid. Overall, if you can get on his good side, he's a good prof, but if not, good luck.

assignments are extremely vague to say the least. ability to communicate suffers far beyond the accent, really confusing to decipher what the assignment goals and expectations are. tested on chapters not yet covered. projects are dependent on knowledge that beginning eclipse users cannot be expected to have. out of touch with students abilities.

You can't understand a word that this guy says. He isn't teaching proGramming it is proyamming and it isn't data it is DATER. I spent so much time trying to understand what he was saying. So if you hear that Programming is easy. Well memorize every bold work in the book and you will do fine...there is only 300 words in the first 3 chapts. Have Fun.

Ok some of these ratings are little harsh, hes a great professor in graphics at least. He knows the material very well. Yes he can be a little hard to understand occasionally but that doesnt make him a bad professor. 234 can be hard with almost anyone you take it with though.
