Dr. Vogel is the best professor I've had at App. He works with you any way he can. He gives many examples of each assignment and makes sure you understand. He gives THE BEST feedback on your essays. No tests, just essays. He's not very strict with deadlines. Super funny and great guy!

Dr. Vogel is one of the best professors I've had. You have to write a lot, but most papers are about yourself or your future teaching career. He is very encouraging, and I enjoyed class. He truly cares about his students and wants to prepare you as well as he can for teaching. Take him for any class. He shares lots of stories, and he is hilarious.

Dr. Vogel is such an inspiring professor. He makes each student feel cared for and gives great feedback on assignments. The papers are fun to write and are much different than other classes. He talks a lot and tells a lot of stories, but he is hilarious. You will not mind waking up to come to his class. He has a lot of insight for future teachers.

This is my second time having Vogel, and I love the man. He prepares his students well for the classroom, giving us a lot (more than we can handle at time) of resources. He works with you and genuinely cares about his students. I would take this man again in a heartbeat

Just read for when you teach the text and you'll be fine. He's a really lenient grader and doesn't have quizzes for the daily readings, so no one did any of the readings. He talks a lot, which is really annoying because he interrupts people's presentations to take the whole class to talk about half related things. Otherwise that, he's fun and nice.

Dr. Vogel is a great guy. He is full of stories from his time in the classroom, but he can get off topic a lot and will spend a lot of time off topic. He gives students the opportunity to teach the classroom. He is very flexible with paper due dates and just wants you to put your best foot forward!

Vogel is a weird dude. I love the stories he tells and it's a super chill class. He's open to extensions (deadlines don't really matter in the class) and he just reminds me of any other student. You write a lot but it's all personal stuff so it's a breeze and I found it enjoyable.

Dr. Vogel is a great teacher! He does like to talk a lot but most of the time it is about something relevant to the class. He is also really friendly and easily approachable. Most of the class was student led with mini-lessons. The other assignments we had were a annotated bib, midterm, process paper, final paper, and position paper.

Nice guy. Worthless class. Read a new novel every week and discuss. Pointless. Take to fill time not to learn.

I love Dr. Vogel. He cares about his students and is very devoted to the subjects at hand. Sure, he rambles. However, his rambling is entertaining and colorful. I learned a great deal from this man. He is also very willing to help anyone that needs it.

Vogel is pretty funny. Yes, he rambles a lot but it's not so bad. The books were great for the most part. I turned in half my work and still made a B, "there too".

Had this professor for adolescent literature. This may be one of the blandest individuals I have ever met. His instruction is dull and rambling, attending class is a chore. I would never take a class of his ever again under any circumstances-- even if it meant graduating late. A completely worthless, very easy class.

Dr. Vogel has been one of the most helpful professors I've ever had. He knows more than anyone else in the English department about the Education department, and has helped me figure out what I need to do for teaching. As well, his class got me a few great books to use for my future English class. Take him if you can!

Complete waste of time. His instructions are very unclear and he rambles rather than teaches. Classes are student-led while he interrupts with mostly useless input. Papers are relatively easy as long as you approach them with his mindset; otherwise you won't do well. I would not take a class of his again.

Had him for Ad Lit. He chooses interesting books and he's very against censorship, so there's a high chance the books will be a little racy. But he knows what he's talking about, but he does tend to be unclear in instructions and spend a good portion of class rambling about something completely unrelated. I'd still take him again, though.

Easy class but a waste of time. I thought I would learn how to teach adolescent literature and possibly pick up some good books to apply to the classroom, but instead we read books that would be banned in the schools and class discussion was off topic and worthless. If you want an easy A go for it, but if you want to learn something, ditch this!

Did I have the same Dr.Vogel as the previous ratings described? The Dr.Vogel I had made us read many books we can't even apply in a future classroom and our "class discussions" turned into heated, off-topic arguments. The course lacked objectives and structure. It was not difficult to make an A, but I feel like I learned nothing. Very disappointed.

Absolutely one of the best teachers I have ever had! Take him if you can because he is such an awesome guy! You read books but he doesn't give out quizzes or test. You have a couple of papers to write and 2 take home midterms but they are sooo easy!
