Although this is a 100 level course, it is far from easy. Although most don't like him, don't let that fool you! Yeah this course is tough, but if you want to be an ECH teacher then you NEED to know this stuff. If you put in the work, you will get the grade you want. If you want to skate by, you get what work you want. Do your BEST on the tests.

Worst teacher I've ever had. Test questions are extremely vague. I learned most of the stuff myself, he didn't help at all. DO NOT RECOMMEND him for any classes. AVOID HIM AT ALL COST!

He is a decent mathematician but he is not a decent teacher. Syllabus means nothing for him, you'll be confused about his lecture. Grading policy is very vague,he can grade the same answer correct and grade it wrong tomorrow. TRY OTHER TEACHERS!

MATH 171 - He's so nice!! Dr. McConnell knows what he's talking about, but he tends to skip steps, and tends to NOT clearly define a formula when he's using it. If you want to do well in this class, the textbook will help you. If you don't understand something, get off your butt and go ask. Then you'll be fine. Also, study study study!

I just want to sit there and mail this guy clips of Ben Stiller doing Clear Eyes commercials. He explains the obvious and glosses over harder concepts. Boring, unhelpful, and apparently not too good at his job since most of the class did poorly or failed outright.

Worst. Professor. Ever. He gives homework every night that is completely unrelated to everything that we go over in class. The quizzes also have nothing to do with the lessons and he just makes everything unpassable. Offers little to no help when questions are asked. Overall, terrible teacher. Save yourself!

Brilliant Mathematitian but more importantly great teacher. Not just a guy with a phd. that cant communicate. He understands what education is. He will challenge you and if you put the effort you will learn a lot. He is extremely helpful but he's not going to do the problems for you. You work hard in his class and you will have a great experience.

Failed his class, it was really hard for me. He told me I needed a 100% on the last 3 tests and quizzes and told me I had no chance of passing. He never tried to help me and his exams were really difficult.
