Comment:

This professor made me love Biology, a subject that I did poorly in and hated in high school. Sweet is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He has amazing lectures that keep your interest, he loves biology and his passion shows through his teaching, and there is 3 fill-in questions for homework due each class. Graded on 4 exams and final + hw.

Comment:

Such an amazing, funny professor. The tests are kind of hard but if you do the study guide questions and read the assigned reading then you should be good. He is very passionate about biology and makes the lectures very interesting. Considered changing my major to biology after this class.

The most caring professor with amazing lectures. Always there to help students, and truly cares and is excited about the material. His honors marine bio class also did field studies in exciting places like a tide pooling camping trip. Do not take this teacher for granted.

Comment:

Sweet is a good professor but the lectures can be slow and boring sometimes. Exams are neither hard nor easy. TBH I liked the botany part a lot better. He is helpful though and is accessible outside class. For his section,there were 2 lab & 2 lecture exams,2 field trips(pay attention or they won't "help your grade") and some HWs. Study guide helps.

Professor Sweet is sweet as his name. He really care and patient to answer questions. To study well in his session, you should take note carefully on lecture and lab. His exams are straight forward. Lab exams on lab materials, lecture exams from lecture notes, homework and study guide. Take a look at pictures on Canvas. Take field trips seriously.

Professor Sweet is AMAZING. He has a great talent for making every lecture interesting. Hes also exceptional at explaining the material and making it easy to understand. Beware, he IS a tough grader and most exam material LECTURE HEAVY. However, Professor Sweet never fails to give highly helpful feedback/advice. :-)

He's an awesome person very smart and caring BUT if you're not familiar or interested in BIO then be prepared for HEAVY NOTE TAKING AND TESTS! I feel like if he would break down the tests into smaller increments rather than take notes for almost a month and then test on it then maybe people like me who are not bio savvy would stand a chance.

The greatest professor I've ever had. I took bio 303, I have never been good at any science related classes. He makes biology INTERESTING. However, if you're not willing to put in the time. Dont take this class. His OFFICE HOURS ARE KEY FOT STRUGGLING STUDENTS. He gives practice testing and his STUDY GUIDE is your key to an A. I would take again.

One if the best instructors I've had! he makes bio easy so understand. the book is not required, and we had no homework it was all tests, only 4. he asks test questions at office hours, lectures are clear (make sure to take notes) and class activities are fun and with groups. i would definitely take again and have already recommended him to others!

I really liked this prof! Hes funny and gives good lectures and always can answer any questions. You can tell he is passionate about BIO and incorporated his own research into the curriculum which was cool. Gives a detailed study guide that covers everything you need to know for all exams and gives helpful handouts. No hw or papers. Take his class

Really nice and caring Professor. Super passionate for Bio and teaching. Tests can be hard but his % brackets are adjusted and you get a study guide. No homework, but quizes every week on labs (he goes over labs). He accommodated my disability very well. Thank you Professor for taking your time to make & provide me the modified quizes, you rock!!!

Prof. Sweet is the best professor I have had at ARC. He taught me to love bio & studying because of how passionate he is about zoo. He is literally the sweetest human ever and always ready to help. He writes out his lectures on the board along with you, so you never feel rushed. Study and MEMORIZE material for exams, they are not easy!!

The Zoology portion of the class. Glad I took him after the first professor because different teaching style. Allowed a couple times for extra bonus points. Material easier to understand vs Botany. Labs are cool and fun. Talks a little fast in the lecture, but I was able to adapt. Everything in lecture and blue lab papers will be on the exams

Prof Sweet's Zoology portion of BIOL 415 was absolutely amazing. It was such a fun and interesting class to come too. Labs are easy and very interesting. Lecture exam material comes from the notes and lab exams are from lab. Everything he taught was clear and he's there to help. I would love to have him again. Wish he taught botany portion as well!
