Comment:

Lecture is 95% her reading the ppt. She is quite rude and actually got mad at me for calling her Nathalie instead of "Dr. Chaly". Her questions seem basic but her grading scheme is very specific (and ridiculous at times), getting full marks requires an insane amount of detail so don't be afraid to spit out everything you know. Horrible prof.

Sad to see so many negative comments. I think she is a really good professor. I think the point is that the course is really hard. I emailed her criticizing her tests, and to my surprise, she was very nice in responding to the email rationally. She is amazing, I think. Very good slides, and explains them well. Haters will hate ;)

When asked why a rubric or some sort of evaluation scheme is NOT provided with assignments, her answer; "The assaingment without is made for you to correctly learn how to interpret the questions." If her extraordinarily broad questions are "open to interpretation" then why should she take marks on details you did not include.

She has to be the worst teacher in the history of carleton university! She clearly hates her job and hates even more her students. She is condescending, rude, unhelpful, angry, monotonous, and hard-headed. If you want to have a chance in her class you are required to write down word-for-word what her answer key says!

DO NOT TAKE ANY OF HER CLASSES! DO NOT DO IT... There is no point what so ever in going to class cuz she reads her slides which dont make sense and I dont think she even knows what is going on. She is nuts, crazy insanely obese....takes more than an hour to walk to change the slide. Her 20 minutes quiz took the class 1:30 hours and no one finshed!

Her 'expected to know' slideshows are just incredibly broad lists that might as well have just said "KNOW EVERYTHING I SAID IN LECTURE AND SAY IT WITH THE SAME LANGUAGE I USED!" I've heard she co-opted the slides for this course from another teacher, and it shows. This is a prof who isn't even trying to seem like she cares about your success.

Worst EVER....run...and keep running....don't look back. In fact, take it with Athabasca. You'll actually learn something and enjoy the subject. Chaly makes you hate it and she doesn't care that she couldn't motivate herself or a student out of a paper bag. She needs to go away.
