Comment:

Tough, but worth taking Pr. Paget. Don't diss him and the class (No TALKING!!), but he is a very good and clear old-school teacher. Ask questions: he expects students (with or without background) to be uncertain. Show him and the weird old music some respect, make it to midterms, and it will be worth it. I give him A+ hands down.

Very boring class and uninteresting. You must read the assigned readings or you will be lost! Writes a lot of notes, make sure you copy them or you will be lost! About 3 exams, cumulative and one concert paper. Everything is on the syllabus, make sure you study ahead of time because it is a lot of info. to memorize. Overall not that hard.

This man is upsetting. Takes music way too seriously, I understand its his profession but this is John Jay not Julliard. He takes attendance so seriously you'd swear he was paying for the class and not you. I wanted to learn how to read and write music, however he overwhelmed me. I found his class difficult. I started out getting good marks on my homework but within two months the work became very demanding. I asked for help and he said no. I asked again and the same answer.
