This class was incredibly challenging but I learned a lot. She expected everyone to read the books assigned in great detail and would get very upset when students wouldn't. She could be a little intimidating at times, but as long as you did the work she was a great teacher. She was very fair even though she was hard.

She is VERY passionate about her subject and is very intelligent. Gets pissed if she thinks someone in the class doesn't care. Can be intimidating but if you do all the reading and participate then she will love you. Her tests are pretty challenging but if you study the guides hard then it won't be hard.

I have taken Paola 5 times. She is probably the hardest but best teacher at Saint Marys. If you are a student who doesn't read or participate in class don't take her or you will be embarrassed. But if you are someone who wants to learn and is passionate about the subject she is your teacher.

Took her in 07, very cold, evil old woman. Was only male in class, felt singled out and discriminated against. Was also punished for being an athlete. Was accused of cheating because my paper was better than what she expected out of me. (basically assumed I was an idiot and that I wasn't capable of writing an "A" paper) Avoid like the plague!

excellent teacher, very passionate about her subject. She isn't mean, it just makes her angry when students don't read. If you are dedicated to the subject matter she is a really caring professor. Her lower division class isn't hard if you read, and you read 3 books a semester.

Awesome Profs for seminar. She cuts down the **** quick which shuts up 3/4 of the class and allows for real discussion. She is hilarious and will make you feel dumb if you say something superficial, which makes you have to work.

Although she's the hardest professor I ever had, this woman knows her stuff. It's well known she's pretty nutty, but just go with it. Her moods range from happy to see you to blaming you for all the evils of the world, but she will help you out in a pinch without thinking twice. Don't even try to bs with her, you'll get called out bigtime.
