Very helpful, extremely attentive professor. She is one that you can rely on, especially for busy people. You should be responsible for reading the material, and submitting the quizes ontime. She makes everything you need available to you ASAP. What else do you want? If you are there to learn and get a good grade, take her.

Maybe because it was a summer class and it was condensed, but I thought the exams were hard, the quizzes and paper are "do-able" and you can pass with a B without the book...she is very nice and a wonderful professor.

She is only hard if one does not read the book and does not study the slides. One could possibly get a B just by studying the slides. If one wants an A, one needs to read the book and not criticize the teacher. I liked her. She can be stern, but she knows insurance and she is willing to help. I think she is great!

Looks like no ratings for a while for professer Born! Great teacher. I learned quite a bit from her class. She grades really fair. Really nice teacher and easy to understand. I recommend her for any Finance/Financial Services Major.

Excellent professor. There are a total of two midterms, one final, and a couple of take home quizzes. In addition she gives a lot of EC which can be helpful when your grade is border line. Study the material carefully and you should do fine. I ended up getting an A. Other students who say negative things about her, simply don't study for her tests.

Not the friendliest prof. you'll ever meet; sometimes she's very tired or irritated and shows it. Class is straightforward. Great powerpoint slides posted on webct. 3 m/c exams which are difficult to get an A in. Not necessary to attend class, she just reads from Powerpoints. Overall, good intro to insurance, but not a personal fav. class of mine.

She is the one of the best professors I've ever had. Her lectures are clear and she gives a ton of extra credit. Exams are simple and straight-forward. Be sure to read the book because you are responsible for the material in the assigned chapters; even if she doesn't go over it in class. I highly recommend her.

Prof. Born is awesome. She does a great job at explaining concepts, she uses fun examples, and she makes sure that students understand concepts before moving on. There are 3 online quizzes, 4 (simple) HW assignments, and 3 exams. I recommend taking her for any finance classes. the textbook is needed.

Took the 8 week course and I found her very nice and helpful. The class was fairly easy with one multiple choise exam and the second was partially short answer and multiple choice. She is fair and if I could I would take another class with her again.

First of all I got A in her class. She is very nice person. If you want an easy "A" she is there for you. She has the knowledge to teach well but she seems to be lazy. She assigns 2 projects to groups and she doesn’t spend enough time to do in-depth analysis.
