Comment:

Lots of in-class group work. She gives group questions that you answer in class, and they gives immediate feedback so you can gauge where you need to put more effort in. A really engaged class. You don't just sit and listen to her lecture all class. She interacts with students and makes it a class you look forward to going to.

COMM 341/381. Test format is extremely hard. Lecture heavy class and notes are not posted before or after class so be ready to write EVERYTHING down if you can (would recommend typing). assignment descriptions are vague, will post links to 20+page articles/30-90 minute videos to be viewed before next class.

Loved this class. As long as you show up and take good notes you'll be fine. She is a tough grader for papers but exams are not bad at all.

Comment:

Extremely tough marker in my opinion. Her class was the only class where my essays and writing would be in the C-B category, whereas other classes are A's. Very accessible outside of class and a very nice person though.

Comment:

This prof is by far one of the best profs I've ever had in my post-secondary education. She isn't teaching just because it's her job, shes teaching because its what she loves to do and because she cares about the content. Her classes are tough, yes, but if you show that you're a hard-working student she will absolutely notice that and provide you with the best experience she can. She doesn't post her notes, but she gives you plenty of time to take notes and will go back a slide if you need her to. This prof changed the way I viewed education and motivated me to focus on my schooling more seriously than I ever have before. Best prof ever, be open-minded and give her a chance.

Took this course for my major. Really nice person however not the best prof. The content was dry but she didn't make much effort to have an engaging class. NO noteslectures are posted on blackboard so attendence is a must. Textbook is also a must. Expects a lot out of students. Tough marker. Tests are crazy hard (long answer questions)

The class is alright. You really have to love watching old movies. Everything on the test is from notes in class that are from a powerpoint. She doesn't post any notes on line so be sure to go to class, or get notes from someone who does. She marks very hard on grammar, and sometimes it seems she cares more about it than the content.

Comment:

Best teacher I have ever had. Turned school from a chore into something to look forward to and productive. Easiness rating of 5 came as a result of the other two ratings. I believe she is underappreciated and needs a raise.
