Attendance isn't mandatory but I STRONGLY recommend. Also I found it hard to take notes on what he said so I also recommend filming his lecture than taking notes on that!! Power points and lecture reflects his exams. His exams can be tricky but they are fair.

good lecturer.enthusiastic+knowledgeable.tends to sometimes rush.always open to questions.attendance is optional but recommended if u dont want to read txtbook.know everything from ppts and u'll do fine on exams.if you don't get an A on 1st exam, low chance you'll get an A in da class. ~20-25% of the class gets an A.recommended for micr elective.

Dr. Patek is an excellent lecturer and professor but his exams are tough and detailed. Review his power points and refer to the book for reference. It's also better not to cram the material a week before the exam, you will not be able to remember the facts needed on the exam. His exam questions are tricky so you need to get the concepts down.

Not as easy as it seems. Each chapter goes over A LOT of material. Don't bother trying to learn out of the book as it may take around 200 pages to read before each test. Just go to class...and maybe take a recorder with you. His powerpoints are printed by chapter, but by itself will not get you an A in his class.

Excellent professor! One of the best powerpoint presenters you can find! Listen to his lectures, and you will understand more than 90% of the materials in the textbook. You don't need to read the textbook in order to understand his lectures.
