Comment:
It is not an easy subject but this prof. made it worse with piles of articles that pose a challenge but also contradictions. The topic of "acculturation", e. g, appears as a positive dimension in most studies, but it is also a bit condescending when it refers to "minorities". Hot topics need deeper exploration and strategies of empowerment.

I am doing research with Dr. Prislin and have really enjoyed it. She is passionate and cares a lot about students. She wants everyone to have a thorough understanding of social psychology and the study we are focused on. She is deeply invested in what she does and her passion rubs off on those with any interest in psychology. Great teacher!

Prof Prislin is very nice but her tests are hard. She expects you to have working knowledge of the information covered in class for her tests. She is very passionate about teaching and socialogy. She has a heavy accent and at times its hard to understand her but she goes over all the information thoroughly. Overall a great class but hard.

I like her class, the material is very Interesting, something that is used in every day life. Things that are hard about this class: the Tests (they are evil). But, the professor will help you any time. I recommend attending her office hours if you have trouble. You have to know how to use the material taught, in everyday life (and thats hard!).

This research lab is interesting for the most part. Students volunteer as experimenters and help graduate students conduct experiments. Students play confederates. Two days of the week must be devoted. Staying till 7 or 8pm possible. Challenging research paper, but a great learning experience. Dr. Prislin is open to questions.

I'm not gonna lie, this class is REALLY hard. But the secret to getting a good grade is simple: you have to WANT to learn to material, you have to go to every class, and you MUST buy the study guide. She's one of the best, most organized and most passionate professors i've had, take her if you want to learn some very interesting material.

This was one of the hardest class I have ever taken. Don't expect to cruise in this class. You have to work just to keep a C in class. Do the extra credit experiment if you want to keep a C in the class. I would not recommend this class to the average student. Actually, I wouldn't recommend this class unless you can't get in anywhere else.

Dr. Prislin knows the material very well, and she expects you to know it just as well. I am a psych major but found her class VERY difficult. I have a 3.8 GPA and this will probably be my first and only "C" in college. I do NOT reccomend her class unless you have AMPLE amount of time to dedicate to this class.

SHE IS A GREAT PROFESSOR, SHE REALLY WANTS HER STUDENTS TO LEARN THE MATERIAL. SOME OF HER TEST QUESTIONS ARE NOT FROM LECTURE, SO YOU WILL BE BETTER OFF IF YOU READ THE TEXTBOOK. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!

Dr. Prislin is an awesome teacher - she is brilliant yet down to earth enough so that everyone learns and is interested. I never got bored in her class plus she's really organized. TAKE THE XTRA CREDIT! I studied so hard and I still averaged about a B, but I took the extra credit and it helped.

Sometimes tough to understand cuz of her accent. But makes strong and clear functioning definitions of concepts. You must read and take notes everyday. Buy the study guide, read, take notes, and you'll get a good grade. Definately, not an easy course.
