Attendance is mandatory although a waste of time and fuel to get there. Class is through ALEKs and is all online, prof. does one or two problems over an entire one hour class that only pertains to a few students in class. Prof. is inaccessible outside of class and doesn't bother to help you understand even when you ask for help. Homework heavy!

Be ready to teach yourself either by youtube videos or reading the book... Lectures are really pointless but you need to go to them. Lastly a lot of homework every single night.

I took Calc 2 with Smith, and he was not a bad professor. I know a lot of people don't like him, but personally I found that if you use the book, follow along closely in class, and do the homework, you should be fine.

All coursework, including the final, was through an online program even though the class was not technically an online class. I didn't care for the format of the class nor the instruction style. If you can teach yourself math concepts on your own, with minimal lecture, you'll probably do fine, but this class style was not for me.

Very heavy on concepts. Willing to help, but effort on student's part is essential. If you don't "get" math, get a tutor right away before the assignments overwhelm you. I would take another class with him.

Worst teacher ive ever had. Doesn't teach. Doesn't try to help you in or outside of class. I tought my self stats because he just rants about how hard stats was for him in college. The main thing is he just doesn't care if you understand or not her will just keep on teaching. hard to understand becasue he says thre words then pausesthentalks again

We have not done a single example problem start to finish in his class yet, and we are already past midterm!! All he does is spout concepts at you without explaining them well at all, and I learn with example problems. Most in the class teaches themselves. In addition, the professor seems to have difficulty having a handle on most technology.

Just finished statistics. Nearly complete waste of time, class periods were spent going over powerpoints and a couple problems. Thank god for coursecompass, or I would have not learned a thing (actually, I probably won't remember a thing anyway). I totally lost interest in this course a month into it.

As other people have said, all he does is go through power points and explains very little. You have to teach yourself completely. Also, right after cramming all the information in he makes you answer questions with a clicker and expects everybody to know how to compute a problem he showed in the power point for two seconds.

Get ready to teach yourself Stats .he has you work in groups..which is great unless you get stuck with slackers.he dosnt grade homework and he didnt make his slides, it came with his book..so...all he does is stand at the front of the room go through the slides NOT EXPLAINING ANYTHING and then grades tests..i know im not ready for my next class. :(

I didn't like him as a teacher at all. All he did was cram and cram and cram things into your head. He was hell bent on getting through the entire textbook before the end of the semester, without care of student understanding.

He doesn't know hes funny. The best part is when he acts like he's computing in his head with the answers in hand and still waits for you to tell him the correct answer.
