Comment:

Easiest class I've ever taken. She is extremely laid back and a very easy grader. You have 4 speeches, a midterm and a final. For both exams she gives you a study guide that you go over in class and you're allowed to use a page of it on the exam. She also gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. If you have the chance take COMM1105 with her!

She has very strong political opinions. You have two mandatory speech labs outside of class. She gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. Midterm and final was easy because she gave out a copy to study for. She is picky about voice and eye contact during speeches, but doesn't take off much points. You would have to try to fail this class.

Dr. Bova was an excellent teacher to have for speech. The first week she seemed really confusing, so don't be afraid to ask her to clarify due dates. She makes the class very group oriented. I would take her class again.

Comment:

I loved Doctor Bova, she was a wonderful teacher. She was going to be out on medical leave but ended up returning the second class. I am happy she did because she was a very different but insightful teacher. The class is very group oriented and the group project was fun and easy. All she wants is you to show up. Easy A!!

Prof Bova is definitely very eccentric and not your regular college professor. She's very disorganized, but overall very nice and gives students WAY too many chances. Grades very kindly. Don't get discouraged at first meeting, she's a very kind and carrying person!

My first impression of her was that she was not all there, a little on the crazy side. But overall it worked for the class. It was tolerable. I wouldn't schedule a class with her again though. If you are absolutely scared to talk in front of people there is no escaping bc she makes you talk and get up. Class is easy, she does grade easy.

One of the best professors at Columbus State hands down. Professor Bova is so much fun and always compliments her students. I learned a lot in this class and thoroughly enjoyed it! If you need speech take Professor Bova you will not be disappointed, plus it is an easy A.

Dr. Bova is opinionated and outspoken, but man, is she an impressive professor. I was terrified of this class - not her, the class - and by the end of the quarter, I'd blossomed. I'm not over my fear of public speaking, but she really helped. I'm so grateful to her for it. THANK YOU DR. BOVA!

Rita was an amazing teacher. She gave you all the materials for you need to get an A+ in the Class. She made everyone feel very comfortable and took interest in her students. She was hilarious and made it exciting to come to class everyday. She's one of those teachers you will never forget.

I've always had social anxiety and trouble giving speeches throughout grade school and college, but she creates a very relaxed environment and I actually HAD progress which I never thought was possible! She keeps the coursework to a MINIMUM because she wants you to just be relaxed. If there's a bigot in your class she will shut him/her down.

Dr. Bova made a degree requirement that I wasn't thrilled about taking so very beneficial! The skills I obtained from her not only taught me how to give different types of speeches, but how to organize any type of paper for any type of class. I highly recommend her! I feel like I got my money's worth!

I thought Dr Bova was a very sweet teacher who always concentrates on the positive no matter how bad as speech is,very encouraging.Yes,she is different but then again if all professors were the same it would be boring.Yes she teaches using puppets and makes yu dance!!Not easy A yu gotta work some pple got Bs. Absolutely crazy was my first impression. She's different - she uses puppets to teach a college class. But she's a good teacher though. She does give out a ton of paper in her speech description packets. Overall, she's a lot of fun. However, after one of my speeches, she did debate with me a little over a Ron Paul quote I had used.

First impression: she's crazy. Absolutely nuts! But full of knowledge. She knows what's she's talking about. However, the way she throws her opinions on the class, I felt my feelings were un welcome. Overall, good prof. But can be rude and overbearing at times.
