Wow, super challenging class, the tests are so hard. Class test average was usually around 50 to 60%. Read the book and study your ass off, come to class every day for those clicker questions. Got some classes off and a lot ended early. Lecture is always interesting, fun professor, expects a lot from you. Big 15-20 pt curve at the end.

Save your money and your time. I'm a comm student, thought this was easy, I was wrong. So wrong. And i'm usually a straight A student.

Apparently everyone has a different teacher than I do?! This is the hardest class I've ever taken. He expects you to live and breathe astronomy. Every test average is in the 50s or 60s. I got straight As last semester and I'm pretty sure I'm failing this class. Astronomy is not as interesting as I thought. It sucks. Worst class ever. Don't take!

I hated this class. I really like the subject, but this teacher goes through the PowerPoint way too fast. There are clicker questions every class so you have to go. The study guides had nothing to do with what was on the test. The class average for our first test was a 50. I am usually an A student but I had to drop this class. Don't take it.

Text book is helpful but do not need. If you want an A use the book, B you dont need it. Lots of notes, he goes very fast. Smart guy but not very helpful. Good luck with study guides the way it is set up is a joke! B is very possible, A is a little tough. Interesting material, class would be better if he lowed down.

Professor Tyson is knowledgable and obviously passionate about this subject. He's quite a nice man! You will have to read before each class for the clicker questions. Before each exam, he'll literally look at the test and tell you exactly what you need to study, which is super helpful when looking back over notes. Fairly easy A for me.

such a sweet man! he truly loves this subject and you can see it as he teaches. go to class because of (easy) clicker questions- and if you go to the class before the exam he basically gives you the answers. I thought I would come out with a B but he gave me an A- same for his lab which is really interesting as well! Read the book!!

The class is very difficult, however, I did end up with an A because I came to class every time. Attendance is basically mandatory to get a good grade because he does clicker questions every class. I made an F, D, C and B on the exams but ended up with an A in the class due to attendance and clicker questions. Tests are curved.

come to class because he uses clicker questions, which helps your grade in the end. he tells you the exact questions on the test the class before the test. He makes class interesting. I recommend him to anyone interested in taking astronomy.

Nice teacher, but the tests are hard! Taking notes (which is a little difficult because he goes through them fast) is not enough to get through the tests. Overall he presents things in a pretty clear way and makes for an interesting class.

Very interesting subject matter. Tyson tries hard to present it in an enjoyable manner, but it can get dry at times (nature of the beast). Three tests (50Q) that get markedly more difficult each time, 120Q final, clicker questions on reading every class (doubles as attendance). Semi-easy A (just cram well before the tests).

Pretty simple class and professor, really loved this one. Enjoyed coming every day. 3 tests and 1 cumulative final. The final is 75% verbatim of the 3 prior tests. Clicker questions every day. He tells you EXACTLY what will be on each test. Learn a lot about astronomy and physics while getting a good grade at the same time.. win.

Took Astronomy with him. 80 - 100 is an A, so I made an A. He makes lectures really fun by being crazy. Throws stuff into seats, dumps water on his head, etc. I forgot about my personal interview and ran a mile in 30 degree weather to make it. I love Astronomy, great class.

Lectures are pretty pointless. He rambles through material and spends more time telling irrelevant stories than actually teaching. I taught myself everything in this class. Tests are not really that difficult.
