She has very strong opinion about everything and if you don't agree and show her that better drop her class right away. Tough grader. Most of the class got B- or C for the first speech, which is absolutely discouraging especially for people who are afraid of public speaking. Learn how to write outlines and cite sources or you'll be crucified.

If you are a natural speaker or just know how to speak fluidly about any topic you will get an easy A. However, she will have no lenience if you aren't too confident and rely a decent amount on notecards. Also, the New York Times subscription she tells you to get is not necessary at all.

She's okay but there's a lot better COM1010 teachers out there, or so I've heard. In her class you're really going to have to work. She is really picky and will find the littlest thing to criticize you on (especially vocal variety) If there's no other teachers, she isn't that bad.

She says she grades based on improvement but she does nothing to help you improve! All it is, is that you have a couple of chances to redeem yourself if you did a bad job earlier so be prepared to practice your speech for hours just so you could give it and she can rip you to shreds. Not a good teacher at all. Take someone else if you can.

She comes off nice at first but if you pay attention, you quickly realize she talks down to you constantly and doesn't respect her students. It's very visible that she considers herself superior and us to be little fools who do not know anything about the world. It's difficult to learn from her since I cannot come to respect her as a teacher.

Overall, an easy class. Pick topics which are current, and not too many people know about. Make sure you do a couple of run-throughs at home, because if you come to class on the day of the speech and mess up, she will let you have it. Oh, and she is definitely lenient on students with accents, and also she grades on progress.

She really is a wonderful teacher. She makes things clear and tells you exactly what she wants to see in your presentations. The textbook is helpful when preparing your speech. She grades based on improvement so it's okay if you aren't a naturally good speaker.

Amazing teacher, really helps you open up to the class and gain confidence in speaking. Easy class if you do what she asks you to. 1 midterm and 4 speeches, easy A, as long as you progress throughout the class

Sorry i put down the wrong class. She's very biased. It doesn't really matter how hard you try in class because she will only rate you on her level of favorites. If you're not really a good speaker, then you're better off with another professor. She will definitely bash you in front of the class.

A comp. guide to getting a good grade. 1. Seem nervous on your first speech, I didn't because I had previous speaking experience, got an A first speech and found it hard to get anything better. 2. Cite your sources, even if it sounds lame saying "according to..." many times. 3. Play favorites. 4. Don't memorize and bring paper up. 5. Step 3 again.

Overall, she's a good prof. She gives you helpful tips on how to make outlines, how to form your speeches, etc. You just have to put in some effort to make your speeches good. Make sure you practice so that you can get a good grade. It was a very fun class and I think if you're willing to work you would enjoy it as well.

Okay professor. You can tell she's a nice person, but after speeches she tends to ramble and you get the feeling like no matter what your topic, she has her own opinions on it and it's what she wants to hear. Easy enough, but can get somewhat annoying.
